Running plexes has me close to rage-quitting right now

That's great if you're a fan of sentries. For those of us who enjoy using mobile drones, they're nearly impossible to use now.

1) clearly see if the rats are targeting you or your drones.
2) Graphical weapon indications from the rats.
3) Drone shield, armor & structure bars.

And when the drones get alfa'd before you can pull them in? It is rare, but it does happen.

A webed drone not only takes longer to return, it is easier for rats to hit.

However,I hear all your problems with the new AI and I am monitoring them and we will consider making some adjustments if we feel that necessary
It would be nice to have a drone setting "auto return if being shot at". Or even have a visual indication in the drone window if the drone is being shot at, like there is in the watchlist.

They are just poor little innocent killing machines. Would some please think of the drones???

I lose a fair amount of drones recently. One mission I launched my 5 Hammerhead 2s and every rat within 5km opened up on them, I lost three of them before they got back.

I am losing lights and medium drones to frigates, destroyers and cruisers every damn mission. Less than an hour ago I lost three Hobgoblin 2's within seconds. Killed by Angel cruisers. I lost a further 5 Hobgoblin I's from my drone bay when the client crashed they were not even in space!

NPC's will target your drones first now, its a case of hoping you get them before they kill your flying death machines. The poor little buggers often don't win.

Pretty much thinking of retiring my drone mission runners and going back to a turreted ship.

that's because u try to kite them..if u get close enough and let them pound you like a rug ...they wont switch to drones so fast.
From what i have observed and correct me if i'm wrong, rats have 3 stages of aggro:

1 - yellow blinking square ... when they have a lock on you but not open fires yet.
2 - red blinking square .... when they are firing at you
3 - same as 2 but when u look at rats in space u`ll see a redish spherical thing around them...i noticed that in that stage they don`t switch to drones that often.

But i`m not doing missions..i mostly do exploration for isk income..and i use a warp disruptor on my ship.....when u fire that baby rats forget that drones ever existed, works for me.

I would like to confirm that the Blood Raider 4/10 is still not fixed. I have not once, not twice, not three times, but had 5 times where I warp to the 2nd room, and there's NOTHING. NOT A THING. ZIP.

It's like the site despawns after the gatekeeper is destroyed.

rats hate electronic warfare more then they hate drones.Its the same problem PVP players have when using any form of EWAR with rats present nearby(find some treads about that matter there are plenty around), could be just my imagination but it seems when using ewar on them even if its pointless they tend not to cycle targets that much.

Its not to trow off the rats AI..its a priority thing in the aggro mechanics, with ewar using ship being higher on the target list then drones.

Maybe if you had read the whole post - maybe even a couple of times, just until you understood it - you'd realise that I wasn't complaining that there are no indicators to tell me when my drones are being attacked. I was actually complaining that they die so fast that occasionally, in the really aggressive plexes (which you obviously have no experience of) one cannot react quickly enough to save them from being popped.

Sorry for any confusion on your part.

That might be your problem, you forgot to fit turrets. Another good module to keep rats interested in you and also benefits sentries is a target painter.

Scanned down several complexes in blood space(south-western amarr space) and every time i get a monestary site, i finnish the first room, and when activateing the second warp gate, the second pocket does not exist, it simply takes me to empty space now.

Two things

-Why a explorer behind enemy lines that is dependent on drones for his dps doesen't carry a remote armor repair is beyond me.

-Eve's "pve" content is worst in the industry, fire whoever thought it would be a good idea to introduce mechanics that only serves to make them, if possible, even more annoying.

One question: Do you just dump your drones as soon as you land on grid, or do you pull aggro first, then deploy?

it was an 8/10. ie sufficient dps that an ishtar can't just sit on its drones, or even orbit them. ie L4 missions are one thing, exploration pockets can be quite another.

You used to be able to drop the drones, open fire with some guns to get aggro and run like hell. Now you need to carry the drones to a sniping perch, and you need to be quite realistic about the risk to your mobile drones if you use them to do some dps whilst moving to the perch.

It's weird how some people have no problem with the new AI and don't loose any drones and some loose them all the time.

If it helps, I'm always within 30km of npc and i have some turrets to attack with. I don't release drones unless everything within safe range (upto 40k or so) is red locked on me and i don't send drones on things past 20k if i can help it. I don't recall last time i lost drone.

Not really, I use drones all the time and as of yet since the change I think I have lost 2 or 3 no biggie, The problem is since the AI change missions/plex's have just become such a ball ache to do I don't actually bother doing them anymore.

The problem with drone ships is that their dps can actually be destroyed unlike other platforms. Missle/turret ships can't get their main weapons destroyed by rats (obviously apart from being blown up) so their minimum dps will always be there.

Again as I said since the new AI was introduced I find it actually more boring than before so much in fact I don't do it anymore.
