Hmm... I fail at reading, lulz. Cases like this won't get much consensus. But hatred for moa or raven is pretty much universal.

Please don't troll this thread. This is a thread for exchange of viewpoints, and eventually a possibility of getting a feel for the general census on what the ugliest ships in the games are. I didn't start this thread so we could have an argument about a a completely subjective matter.

If you fail to know the difference between "consensus" and "census", please reconsider your participation in this thread.

Look, I gave you my take. I also gave a meta take on the overall utility of performing another of these surveys. But I certainly won't discourage you from doing so.

By the by, the eventual answer (if past performance is any indication) will be that the Moa is the worst followed by the Raven and the Dominix with honorable mention for the Imicus if enough people remember what it looks like and especially if someone brings up the old Helios.

But hey, maybe opinions have shifted in the past few months. Anything is possible.



If I were to substantively respond to this bit, it would be trolling. So we'll just leave it as is, shall we?

I think the Raven gripes are less the shape and more that it has a "90's graphics" feel to a lot of parts of it... it's (IMO) nicely designed, but some bits just look like they weren't really finished.

Also, one of the problems with the idea of "make this ugly ship look good" is that some of us *like* our ugly ships. The Moa is a good example... yes, the fact that it's amazingly butt-ugly is one of the few statements that won't set off a forum war, but (again, IMO, though I know other people who've felt the same) that's a *good* thing because it's an all-business ship and it's in the business of making you look even uglier than it does.

(and, along the whole "subjective" lines, I'm of the opinion that they took one of the better-looking and more characterful ships in the Caldari lineup and turned it into a rediculous charicature (err, no way that's spelled right...) when they re-did the Scorpion. It has friggin' *legs" even... also both the blackbird and the bantam were made extra-ugly in the last round of changes, so things don't always turn out "nicer")

Basically... "no" on the redesign front... at least fundamental redesigns. Fixing older models up to keep looking cool next to the new ones I can support, but big re-works shouldn't happen unless they *need* to (like "sued" or the shape is causing actual technical problems).

90% of caldari ships look like a two year old with Legos put them together. I'd love for them to be changed like they changed the Scorpion.

It's just very slow, and could well be that those resources are now hard at work finishing the new tier 3 BCs (which by the previews and leaks, look absolutely stunningly gorgeous <3 )

Dominix is a love/hate affair, it's not very sexy, but it's looks are certainly appropriate. I do love the ship dearly, though.

Same cannot be said for the Imicus/Helios hull, while Imicus is the best scanning frig in game no question, it is unbearably butt-ugly to look at no matter how much I like the ship. The old version (current Maulus hull) is stunning- ominous, mystic, total success, on the other hand.

And do NOT touch the Brutix design. It's a beast. Makes all other hulls look like toys.

accurate and pinpoint texturing will save the day. Get your GFX on and come and join the space age.

Why so much hate on the poor Moa?

I disliked the ship intensely for years, but in the last couple of them it has grown on me. I quite like the overweight little metal ostrich with the overstuffed suitcase now. It is one of the ships that are uniquely EVE Online's. Quite a few ships could use a facelift, Moa likely among them. But I'd mourn that lumpen shape for a long time.

Moa is the best looking ship it is unique not like the other lame boring you can see thisstyle everywhere ships.

The caracal +drake are the only ugly ships caldari has.
Btw just look at the dominix wtf is that? so boring and ugly.
