This event has done such good things to the game.

Just went to one of the James 315 systems suspect-flagged and threatened to kill miners unless they paid me ISK. Instead of AFKing, the miners organised a small defense fleet (well, a Wolf and a Megathron) and fought me. I narrowly escaped the encounter with my ship and had to abandon my drones.



We now have miners that are learning to give up their AFK ways and protect themselves rather than begging for CONCORD to be buffed or other rubbish like that. For that, I thank James.

I'm not sure if it's you or the miners who I should be directing this to, but suspect flags don't work that way. You don't get to kill people just because you're a suspect.

I just wanted to say.. next time you go suspect. Go ahead shoot them and see what happens.

And what were you flying? Short of a T1 frigate and you were not able to kill them? tsk tsk....

This. I smacktalked in local as a suspect, they were worried and scrambled defenses. I wasn't flying a suicide gank ship.

I was flying a Vexor. Love the ship, but not so much against both a battlecruiser and an AF. Especially a BC that has tanked against my primary drone damage.

Still, I'm impressed in the change of attitude among the mining scum.

You can fly into any system suspect flagged, act like a jackass and someone will come shoot you. Hell, you don't even need to act like a jackass half the time, just sit out in space and some moron in his level 3 mission drake will take a shot at you.

It has nothing to do with James 315 or miners.

Lot of dumb people in this thread misinterpreting the original poster. He's not saying suspects can shoot people, he's saying seeing the suspect flag and threatening people made them feel like he was a real threat and caused them to respond and engage

That was true day 1 of Retribution. Not so true now. I look for trouble suspect flagged a lot, usually people won't shoot a suspect even after you lock them and bump them 3-4 times.

Over 50% of the folks involved were in dessies and frigs, so it's still a pretty accurate statement.

Was in a Vexor with a passive tank. Could not handle the Myrm's DPS long enough to take it down.
