PS: For someone who came into this thread accusing everyone who disagreed with him a 'whiner', you seem touchy about others being 'insulting'.

Entering every topic with a title like that with simply stating "do this, it'll make things better" isn't backing up anything in any universe. And never did I say anyone who disagreed with me was a whiner, just those with attitudes like yours who always has to bring up the same subject over and over, ignoring the content of the actual post. Essentially you're admitting that you responded only to the title of the post and nothing more. No discussion of merits about the content, no displaying the merits of your suggestion. Nothing. Just the same thing, over and over, like clockwork. You just look for the excuse to bring it up and don't care about actually discussing it. Don't care about actually presenting it. You just bring it up for the sake of bringing it up because you want it now.

Actually my post was very topical and evaluated the concerns of the OP fairly and comprehensively, such as
- AFK freighters autopiloting lazily through highsec
- the lack of the sense of danger in highsec
- 'Give players a reason to pay attention before undocking.'

All of these issues would be swiftly answered by allowing normal and intended PvP to happen in the most populated area of EVE, by resolving wardec evasion and removing NPC corps, while being much more easy to implement instead of creating advanced NPC AI. I'm sure you'll want me to prove self-evident 'claims' related to this, like "is a live player really better adapting then a CCP script file?" or something. If you want an example of a true kneejerk post without argument or reason, look no farther then here:

Sort of like how you cry about hi sec not being low or null sec.

Heady stuff, great argument.

I don't know. NPC haulers and miners are ganked all the time so its not like they are avoiding anything. In fact, I'm privy to people in NPC corps that gank other people regardless of if they are in a NPC corp or not.

Yep. Thats right. NPC corp members as gankers.

Could say that about null sec problems too quite often, or any problem really... if there are issues in the game, no matter where they are, high sec, low sec, null sec, they should be given consideration, and its obvious that anyone who brings up an issue is affected by it in some way or foresees being affected by it in the future.... so really you've pretty much brought up statements that in a way could describe every single forum post ever if you just replace a couple words according to situation. Congrats on that...

Its cute that you think you're making a point.[/quote]

More of one than you're making. Yours sums up to be "oh god, this player who plays differently than me has an opinion! Lets point and laugh"

Gave him about the same amount of respect he gave the OP. About all he deserved with a post like that. Anyways, see, you never said any of those things in your post. Those are actually points you could try making and I'd be willing to discuss them. In a topic actually relating directly to it rather than continuing to take over someone else's thread with your own personal agenda.

Actually its more "Hey, this dude is trying to force his solo playstyle on a multiplayer game. He can play any number of singleplayer games but instead attempts to force his style on devs that have a backlog of serious issues to address."

Also, precedence:

Quote:
Jonric: What role will missions play in the game? (snip)

Thorolfur Beck: Players will be able to go on specific missions for the empires. These can range from freight-carrying to combat-oriented (pirate-cleaning) to covert missions (spying, finding information). The missions are mainly for players to learn all the different aspects of the game, and earn some bucks in the process. We don't intend AI involved missions to be the be-all and end-all of the game - they are something we believe many players will dabble in for a while and then move on to more actual missions involving other human players.

Quote:
Jonric: Will there be any computer-controlled opponents to fight, or only other players? What about computer-controlled guard ship or escort ships?

Thorolfur Beck: There will be computer-controlled opponents in some areas - call them space dungeons. Computer-controlled enemies are not, however, thought of as centerpieces of the game-play in EVE, but rather as a variation to help players tune combat skills or to keep players busy while waiting for grander schemes to unfold. We will try to channel conflict into the PvP direction, in a way that allows for a lot of much more exciting battles than possible with any AI, but without making life unbearable for the more peaceful or inexperienced players. In the secure zones in the game world there will be a lot of empire-controlled ships flying around, both armed ships guarding the peace as well as just normal space traffic.

Hello, hello again.

Doesn't surprise me at all - one is at a competitive disadvantage when you aren't using NPC corps. The only loser in the current scenario are newbies and casuals.

Doesn't sound like an idea that would have to be solo based to me (see incursions)... though I suppose your "precedence" quote does throw my idea of it creating a station wide null sec zone out the window if nothing else. That's not exactly something you'd give players the power over. Still, you could say what you just said rather than be snarky. At least it lends itself more towards having a little more explainable and respectable viewpoint.

some difference and variety to things would be nice but there seems to be an overwhelming sense that what players want when they talk about generating content "thier way" is merely freedom to gank anything that cant shoot back without any risk of being blown up by uber npcs thus making the affected areas lowsec/nullsec. However null and low already exist. So like i said it seems purely just people trying to extend the amount of space they can blow up ships that have no weapon slots and/or tank slots.

Im all for things not being easy, things could be done to make incursions actually fun and mind numbingly terrifying if only there was room in the coding for random spawns and major game changers, for just 1 example. Also i agree that belt rats are stupid, little frigates with 80-100hp in 0.7 systems. thats just a big fat "lol" even for t1 hobgobs.

You mean more risk-free isk and loot? Better to add some kind of mechanic to allow faction warfare gangs to come into enemy highsec space and kill everyone without invoking a Concord response. Collaborators from other races are no better than the race you're actually fighting against.

I support this service. Damn frog collaborators!

I am all for anything that makes high-sec less secure, including Incursions affecting the security level of a system/constellation.

I am also for more lore/backstory/events.

I am not for them being a mindless grind that provides more advantages to a risk averse, solo mindset.

While I'd love to see incursions be a lot more interruptive to highsec gameplay, like Sanshas camping gates, shooting stations, disabling player station services and shootintg poses, I don't think we need more pve content from other parts of the game doing the same thing. That would just be another kind of boredom.

But yes, highsec is too safe.

Reduce safety and let players put highsec to the torch. Mission accomplished.

Remove standings and insurance.

I want NPC rats blowing **** up!! I want to see NPC gate camps, station camps and obliterate unsuspecting miners. Im tired of seeing these cheesy rats in the belts.....so called "spies" and "scouts".

CCP, highsec as it stands right now is boring. Its too safe an area of the game. Dont nerf the rewards of carebears in highsec. Increase them. But make 0.5-0.7 systems more dangerous with good bounties for retaking systems. Good bounties for eliminating NPC gate and station camps. Give players a reason to escort freighters, protect miners and provide cover for mission runners to get out of station to go complete a

Freighters autopilot all throughout Empire without much risk. Miners afk in belts with only gankers to worry about. I want to see carebears band together to retake their home when the NPC pirates invade and make it as dangerous to leave station as if they were in lowsec or null. Carebears are good at one thing.....killing NPCs. So CCP, give them more **** to shoot at.

Have Sleepers hop in from that new k162 that spawned and start kiling players in hisec. Give players a reason to pay attention before undocking.

Have NPCs pod players too.

At least for a few months, have all the NPC pirate factions truly invade highsec so it affects EVERYONE who lives in 0.5-0.7 systems. Incursions are cool, but not dangerous enough. I want to see exploding pinatas in highsec. Make us all have to fight to defend our homes. Because right now, the highsec PvE is just too damn easy and boring. Some love PvE without the PvP. So give us more intense PvE in highsec.

Set highsec on fire!!!!!!!

Everything you say is a bad idea.
In Eve the players are there to create content.

Whining of lazy low-lifes made CCP kick players that created thrilling content for the player-base out of high sec and banned them in the stations for the better part though...and NOW YOU ASK FOR NPC-SHIPS TO REPLACE THEM??? What the actual FUQ!
CCP give US the ability to create this content in High Sec and there will not be a single boring system!!!

Maybe have the "Use shortest" instead of the "Use safest" route option as the default? Or remove the "Safest" option.?

I dunno, I've only really been playing for a few months (real time) and the first thing I did was disable the safe route option. I must play at an odd time because the largest group of people I seen in any low sec system was 6 and the one guy that tried to PvP must have forgotten to train any targeting skills to go with his BC Big smile It was kind of exciting to see an incoming lock from a player.

So you guys complain that players do all this stuff in hisec, then this guy comes along and wants NPC's to do it instead.

I'm starting to see the light here. It's no wonder so many people want to see hisec burn.
