It seems that every second or third thread in GD, Assembly Hall and F&I forums seems to be the same topic coming up again and again: Null vs High-sec, AFK Cloakers, Nerf Local (seems to hand-in-hand with the aforementioned), among others.

All of these topics have a common beginning and end. They start off with an unoriginal, recycled and generally terrible idea by somebody that did not bother to go beyond the first 4 threads on the forum or use the Forum Search option to figure out that that their 'unique' position has been suggested, debated and dissected a dozen times before. The OP is then quickly followed by your common 1-liner replies, trolls, NPC alts and so on, before diverging into some sort of tirade that has nothing to do with the topic at hand; simply because it has all been done so many times before and people no longer have the need or the patience to constructively reply to recycled topics.

I am aware that CCP posted up a sticky thread about miner bumping at one stage and directed all posters to argue their stance in this mega-threadnaught, whilst prohibiting and promptly closing alternative threads attempting to raise the same issue. I think that the same should be implemented for other topics (abovementioned) that continually re-emerge on various sub-forums. The mega-threads would be easily moderated and discourse could be kept civil and relevant to the topic for the majority of the time. The down-side is that you'd get 100+ page threads but I believe that is would be a more palatable option than having 100+ 5-6 page threads, which is the current state of affairs.

I agree: A sticky post detailing to users how to do a forum thread SEARCH query would be most useful.

Every time there is a wave of newer players or some CFC/HBC player gets killed these topics come up. They are not something that is new. The best way to deal with it is to troll them and point out the search button in the upper right hand corner.

Made a signature so I am taken seriously on the forums, since thats the only thing they are good for.
