I live in a C4-C2 and I spent alot of time clearing out my static and I need a high dps ship that won't break the bank when I inevitably lose it. What I've been using for awhile now is a full gank Zealot with 610 Conflag dps and a speed tank, it's worked great so far, speedy, completes sites quite quickly and costs only 250 mil.

Is there any ship I can upgrade to with a similar price range but better performance? Is it better to just use a BC? I've used BCs and it seems like this Zealot is worth the cost as most BCs struggle to have adequate tank and put out 600dps.

I'm actually a little surprised your able to maintain tank and get that much DPS out of the Zealot; I used to run a dual MAR fit that put out maybe 300-350?

Anyways, I think you're probably going to have to spend a significantly increasing amount of ISK to beat that performance. Tengus can run a solid tank for the range of 600 or 700 mil, but you won't get heavy missile DPS up into the 600s anymore without significant ISK investment (excluding scourge furies, which won't do much for you against frigates really).

You could consider using a Battleship, which could significantly increase your DPS and lower your cost, but you may have some issues with the tank. All in all it sounds like your setup is pretty cozy.

Thanks for the reply, yeah the tank is very thin and unless you're within 20km of the high dps C2 sleeper BS (Watchman and Outguard I think) the tank won't be able to hold, however you usually have enough speed/buffer to get within that 20km zone before your tank breaks at which point the BS can't hit you at all. However I have had one instance where I was 70k from a Sleepless Watchman and I couldnt get close enough in time and took some hull damage, but I just bookmarked a location near him, warped out and back in. Frigs are also a non issue and you can usually 2-3 shot them with Scorch at range, and once they fall into orbit you can AB in a straight line and after awhile they'll drop to around 10+km and you can hit em with IN multi. Conflag can also track all the Cruisers very well @ optimal with the AB running.

Here's the fit incase you're curious
[Zealot, C2]
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Capacitor Power Relay II
Damage Control II
Coreli C-Type Adaptive Nano Plating
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Medium Armor Repairer II

10MN Afterburner II
Medium Capacitor Battery II
Tracking Computer II, Tracking Speed Script

Heavy Pulse Laser II, Conflagration M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Conflagration M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Conflagration M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Conflagration M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Conflagration M

Medium Energy Collision Accelerator II
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I

You get around 4 minutes with everything blazing, which is more than enough. Also dropping the cap power relay for another Heat Sink and changing the t2 dps rig for a CCC will increase the damage slightly, but drop the cap quite significantly, although now that I've tested it out a fair bit, it is possible although you'll have to watch your cap closely.

Anyway, regarding my topic, I was thinking of a Sleipnir, it uses medium guns, has excellent speed/tank/dps and only costs less than 100 mil more than this Zealot, while being significantly cheaper than a Tengu for more dps, anyone with experience using a Sleipnir in C2s?

Yeah Drake or Harb would be more cost effective but I was thinking of something in that price range, or cheaper too but I don't think anything cheaper can get that much dps.
