Hi, I have a quick question.

How much does one usually spend on a PVP gang frigate including modules and ammo?

I'm looking into buying 10 frigates (probably merlins) and trying them out to get a hang of PVP, but I'm gonna have to pace myself with a strict budget.

Well frigs are a good starting point.

Pretty much, whatever it costs to t2 fit the ship with some t1 rigs.

I'd say, in the neighborhood of 5-8 million per ship?

If you mostly T2 fit it (which you should, especially the guns), probably 5-6 mil or so.

I was about to thank those two and you just put a doubt... I'm probably not going to fully T2 my frigates..

All I know is that the frigs I'm aiming for are 315K naked in a neighbour region.. those modules are starting to feel pretty expensive.. I mean.. I spend 20 mil on a L2 mission boat Caracal.. Surely something is wrong..right? I mean.. 15 mil on a T1 frig...

t2 fits will run you between 8-15 mil generally depending on local prices and the specific modules you need.

t1 fits are significantly cheaper, and you can usually fully t1 fit a frigate for 1.5-3 mil.

Hope that helps.

That actually helps a LOT!

I guess giving myself a 8 million budget per ship is gonna work.. Thank you everyone!

Important to note that fitting T2 and rigs may cost more.. but can be the deciding factor on whether you win or loose a fight... constant loosing will make you frustrated and eventually give up.. same can be said about using faction ammo.

t2 fit = you die less often = you lose less isk

Don't worry so much about isk. It ruins the fun.

I have no choice but to think about the isk

I can't afford this project right now because I was stupid and screwed myself up.

now I don't have my buzzard, basilisk, drake and raven to get the isk I need to at least BUY the damn things, and am stuck grinding low bounties in a caracal to afford fun. I'm just about to sell a plex just to skip the whole boring level 2 grinding bullcrap I have to go through.

Plex is the most time efficient way to get isk

100 mill an hour = >3$

So basically you're making a fraction of minimum wage when you PVE. If you have a job and you want to pvp you're better off just buying plex rather than ruining your time in Eve with that horrible grind.

Sell 2 plexes (~1-1.1B these days), still grind missions but only to unlock L4s not for the ISKs.

Then you can probably still buy 20-30 T2 fit frigs.

CCP were kind enough to give us 3 toons one account.. Set them all to work. To fly a bestower and do some ok'ish PI only takes a few days training and between the 3 toons even in HS you should cover at least 1 ship a week. Datacores is another easy way to make isk.. need some more skills for this. Perhaps you need to find a corp that works together, that way you can be running lvl4's with others and taking some salvage, or join a pvp corp that does ship replacement. Put one of you alt toons in FW and go do offensive plexing, don't need to shoot a thing and warp away when challenged.. I could go on.. but I hate typing.. there are lots of ways to make isk in eve.

the cost of a T2 fitted frig depends on the frig you use. It starts quite low at about 3mil and usually dosn't rise above 15mil. PVP isn't very expensive if you stick to T1 frigs.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

That's the spirit, go pvp have fun and learn from you're mistakes:) ask some people what to engage and what not, not fun loosing merlin by merlin to a hookbill and not knowing why, I salute you and afther you're first death and kill I welcome you to eve

50mil should do the trick.

Use T2 guns and Damage Control II if you can - The rest can be t1.

Example:
A T1 meta3 scram with 8600ish meter range = approx 30k each last time I bought a pile. (Was a while ago but even if they have risen 10x in price they still worth it)
A T2 scram with 9000ish range = well over a mil each last time I looked.

So 100 Meta3 scrams for 3 mil vs less than 3 T2 scrams - not a tough choice.

My average merlin cost around 4.5mil with T2 guns and ammo being the majority of the cost.
