The launcher is down or something. When try to log in I get this,

"No connection could be made to the content server. Please make sure that your Internet connection is up and restart the Launcher."

I then click the "start eve' butan and it says "Incompatible (Protocol)"

Same here, ran 2 repairs (different installations/HD's), could run one at some point that was patching something then just crashed, can't do shift again...

Edit, just made it to login by running eve.exe from Eve folder. Launcher seems a little bit hill Lol

Had this issue pop up two times yesterday after i lost connection to the server...usually worked again after a few minutes. Feels like a gigantic 2 minutes long packet drop.

Since I'm posting this I have internet, and I have restarted the launcher multiple times in the past 20 minutes. I'm in Lynchburg, VA.

Same Issue in Australia. Seems the update server is having connection issues. Budget cuts have changed it to dial up speed and it cannot handle the info talking to it.

I think I found a workaround. I executed the eve.exe directly from the game folder and not the launcher and it started the new patch update.
If it works please reply.

Seems it's a launcher stuff.

Try to run Eve.exe from your Eve folder, it worked to me. (FR location)

Anyone come up with an actual fix yet, other than "yay it works now!"?

Well this is happening to me and it seems as soon as someone post everything is good, so here it goes.

But I am getting the launcher issue and then wrong protocol when I tell it just to launch EvE. After I type in my User name and Pass.

That is funny as soon as i posted, and then reopened the Launcher it started right up. DLing the new patch for it now.

confirmed.
When I run eve.exe directly from the directory it opened the launcher and even did the update.

Neither the launcher or game are working for me either. when I run eve.exe (safe mode) I get an error stating that it can't verify a directory where eve processes are running.
