Hi guys,
I'm having my 4th battlecruiser since I lost 3 and I think i like it (2nd hurricane lol) and I would like to ask some things so i can get involved in pvp.

*Does PVP have looting ?

*What do I win by killing someone?

*I read that placing a bounty in someone is stupid since he can be in a small worthless ship and someone kill him and get the bounty. Is it true?

*Can I attack someone with a yellow or red skull that blinks in high security? Will concord kill me?

*Where can I pvp since whenever i went in 0.4 in a lot of systems i died cause of factional warfare

*I want to solo .Is it possible or I always must be in a corp?

*Is PVP fun and worth it?(i died sometimes when someone attacked me when i was very new to eve and it was fun)

*Are there specific areas that I can pvp or I will always find some really big ships that I won't be able to scratch them?

*Can I salvage opponents wreck?

Thank you

Yes

15 cool points

*I read that placing a bounty in someone is stupid since he can be in a small worthless ship and someone kill him and get the bounty. Is it true?

No

*Can I attack someone with a yellow or red skull that blinks in high security? Will concord kill me?

In high sec, yes.

*Where can I pvp since whenever i went in 0.4 in a lot of systems i died cause of factional warfare

Join FW or RVB

*I want to solo .Is it possible or I always must be in a corp?

Solo is more fun when you're in a corp, unless you really really hate people. Also joining a corp with good players is the best way to learn

*Is PVP fun and worth it?(i died sometimes when someone attacked me when i was very new to eve and it was fun)

Its why we are here

*Are there specific areas that I can pvp or I will always find some really big ships that I won't be able to scratch them?

Don't understand this question

*Can I salvage opponents wreck?

Yes, t2 salvage is delicious

Thank you

If you blow up someones ship, the wreck sits there with some of the modules still in it, for anyone to loot. Whoever grabs it first is going to get the items in the wreck.

In high sec you cannot just shoot anyone with a low security status. Concord will defend them. If someone is below certain security status they are attackle in some systems. This depends upon the secrurity status of the system you are in. In a 1.0 starter system folks with a security status of below negatve 2 are attackable i believe. You can also attack anyone who is at war with your corporation in high sec.

Solo PVP is possible. I personally would recommend you join a corp and pvp in groups before attempting to do so. Jumping into solo pvp first will likely result in you just getting steamrolled by the inhabitants of low sec/null sec.

PVP is fun. It is the only thing worth doing in this game IMO. While i understand the need to carebear... carebearing is only a means to an end. It is not the end itself. Making money just to make money is kind of pointless in a game that is centered around PVP.

Wrecks can be salvaged.

You can be in a corp and still pvp alone.

But if you can join FW without joining a corp

If you dont' want that ether just fit a ship go to lowsec/0.0 and shoot stuff.

Steps to successful PvP.

Step 1: crush up some pro plus tablets and snort them
Step 2: wait 10 minutes, have a cup of tea or something
Step 3: duct tape a wellington boot to your forehead
Step 4: strap some blasters onto a thorax or something
Step 5: charge headfirst at the first ship you see bellowing incomprehensible oaths involving unicorns.

It's always worked for me :)

Joining a corp is not needed. But there are many corps out there that are solo corps.
Tuskers, Black Dragon Fighting Society, Mine etc that are together just for an area to chat and exchange ideas fits and tactics.
Most of the time the people in these corps are scattered all over the galaxy just blowing stuff up.

You are best off finding one of these corps at first purely for the information they can give you around solo pvp you don't actually have to fly with any of them and they won't pressure you too either.

That is the Way, the Tao.

Balance is everything.

You can PvP anywhere.

If you want to get into lowsec solo PvP (which you should), watch some tutorials on how to use the DIRECTIONAL SCANNER (DScan) on your ship to find players in a system.
Practice this in highsec-systems until you think you're good enough (just the scanning, not the shooting ;) ).

Here's what you do:
- Check your starmap for lowsec systems that are not too crowded (you don't want to share a system with a roaming gang of assholes).
- Jump to that system
-Create a safespot (drain your capacitor until it's completely empty and quickly warp to a target 10AU+ away, you will not warp all the way and get stuck in the middle of nowhere, this is your safespot now, bookmark it).
-Use this safespot to calmy start scanning the system, you may have to create several such safespots (SS) depending on the size of the system.
-If you find a target at a position you can warp to (someone ratting in a belt maybe?), decide whether or not you can take it (maybe don't try to hit a strategic cruiser in your frig or something).
-Warp to your prey and kill it dead! / Die yourself
-Repeat

Oh, yes: Keep an eye on the local chat. THIS IS IMPORTANT. Someone bad might jump in on your system and, depending on how good he is, can scan you down within seconds, even in your SS. If you suspect someone is trying to scan oyu down, don't panic. Frequently do a 360° scan on your DScan (set your overview to show probes) to see if anyone has combat probes deployed. If you see combat probes on the DScan, get the **** out of there.

Is your overview properly set up?

Best advice i can give is as a new pilot the main thing your going to need to achieve much in PVP is friends. so join a pvp corp.

Second thing to do is start out small, flying a half skilled cane is never a great option. your far more likely to do well if you fly a well skilled af or inty. you will have more opportunity to survive longer and probably be more useful to a gang.

Also EVE is complicated.. take some time to learn the game mechanics a bit (as an example i didn't PVP for my first year of EVE) knowing what you are fighitng and if you can fight it, is probably 60 - 70% of the battle. quality of pilot and fitting will do the rest.

Finally don't go into PVP looking at it as a profession. You will always need another way to provide you with isk to keep ships in your hanger. PVP rarely results in profit long term.

Guys you are very helpful and i learn a lot from you.Thank you.Yesterday i tried to enter a 0.4 system for a mission and 2 pirates were there. They couldn't harm me since i had halcyon's stabilizer equiped and my cane tanking did well so i left and went to continue my mission. After some minutes while i was doing my mission 6 ships came near me (with the two previously mentioned)and killed me.So is this pvp?6 vs 1?Probably they found me by scanning correct?

That's EVE-PvP alright. :D
It's almost never fair.

Aaaand it was entirely your fault for thinking they would let you go. ;)
They scanned you down with combat probes. You should have your DScan open at all times in a hostile 0.4 and scan every few seconds for probes.

So either:

- Be sure you can take on someone before attacking him or being attacked by him (and his 3 friends).

- Or realize you would not survive a fight and make sure they can't find you.

There are many guides for survival in lowsec, read them.
You need to be able to:

1. Keep local chat in mind
2. Set up your overview properly
3. Know aggression mechanics
4. Be able to use the DScan for offense AND defense
5. Know when and where you are vulnerable in space (answer: everywhere and always)

I wouldn't call this pvp, not because it was 6 against 1 but rather because you wheren't prepared to be pvping. A PVE (Missioning) fitted ship is most of the times not viable when engaging other players.

As earlier mentioned, if you want to learn how to solo pvp, startoff in something smaller than a battlecruiser. Use a Merlin, Incursus or some other frigs, maybe a destroyer. Unless you have ALOT of isk to spare you will burn your self out very quick using ships you can't afford to lose.

I'd recommend checking out Kil2's youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/jampyzero?feature=watch
You can learn alot from his streams.

Also check out Garmon's Eve is Easy channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/eveiseasy
Dont get fooled by the name "EveisEasy", Eve is not easy, its a very complex game and demands alot from the player especially when it comes to PVP!

Good luck!

How I approached learning how to solo:

1) Build 100 various cookiecutter frigs
2) Black frog them to lowsec
3) Engage everything
4) Learn from mistakes, to control the rush, what your fits can do, how ships are usually fit (and how to beat them)
5) Keep it up until you can fairly reliably win 1v1s

Repeat 1-5 through all the ship ranks.

**** that, just redfrog them to a high sec border system and pick them up one at a time when you die.

Way cheaper.

If you don't need 23 pilots to kill a Rifter, you don't have to divide the loot between 23 players. You can always hunt people who doesn't really want to fight you, billions of ISK in loot in a few days is entirely possible. Also the more people you have , the bigger chance to scare away the target. Don't let them convince you to join their boring fleets and have 1/100th of the fights you could by just going out and kill stuff Twisted

Definitly join a corp. When your new, even if you think your set up is good, it's not. Infact your probably fail fit and think your good cause it works in lvl 2 missions or ratting in .5 systems. Even some of the noobier of the FW corps can atleast give you less-fail fits and piloting advice. Also there is nothing like flying drunk in a small fleet listening to your fc call out targets over heavy metal playing in the back ground. MMO's are multi-player for a reason, even if you spend most your time alone.

Like a couple other people said, use frigates or dessies. Your going to die alot so unless your just indepenently wealthy and can sell lots of PLEX running through hurricanes at the rate you will as a new pvp'r would make even some vets' wallets flinch.
