Today Taco Blunt stole my goods which he valued at 1.4 bil (they are actually worth 990mil) and has taken it upon himself to have at the goods. IT was a faction fitted loki AND my fault that I used a random courier. But the point is this is what he does.

So keep an eye out for this guy and well. If he takes your contract and you didn't know it could be stolen like me then you've lost it

CCP: Make it more obvious somewhere than couriers can see inside the package please!

Never set collateral less than item value. Case closed.

Never not use red frog, too.

Now you know what collateral is for. View it as a learning experience.

Didn't put collateral on a courier contract. Lost his ship. Lesson learned.

Would you trust a random stranger to take your carrier bag full of money to the bank for you? cos I know I sure as hell wouldn't.

If you didn't set a collateral then more fool you, treat it as a valuable lesson and move on.

One of the easiest and oldest scams on the books.

I try to be nice and mind my business just shooting lasers at rocks. There is just way too many asshats in New Eden for that to happen.

It's more stupidity than a scam, for not setting a collateral to being with.

Well you probably havent lost anything because ccp gave the option to put collateral up on a contract.
If you choose not to use this option then thats your choice, not a smart one though.

Yah, I had someone abandon a contract of mine today. It had 1 Bil collateral which I got... but it makes me think that I must have had more in it than I thought.... My fault and my bad if that was the case for not taking a closer look at what I was trying to have moved.

That being said, don't trust the hauling corp Always AFK. Just sayin. :)

For those of you who care (No one) I did get the ship back by offering an extra 500 mil extra, Once the courier contract was completed ofcourse this extra ISK never got transferred.

This is what happens when you trust someone named Taco Blunt.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Poor Taco needs to learn how to work Item Exchange contracts if you just counterscammed him out of 500M ISK.

but other chumps will take the contracts for far less reward!

and I usually set the collateral at 1.2 to 2 times item value, most of the time I think I'd rather have the isk than the items anyways.

Use Red Frog.

Always group far less than 5b worth of stuff per job.

Always use maximum collateral no matter what.

That way, you will be happy when they finish the contract, and even happier if by rare chance they get ganked in the way.

Win-win.
