dramiel with snake implants, and 2x overdrive + 1x nanofiber is fastest moving ship without active speed mod, if your looking for fastest autopilot travel. though a bit expensive

Supercap nerf - change ewar immunity https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=194759 Module activation delay! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1180934

Republic Fleet firetail?

This is a good call, mine breaks 4 km/s without OHing. It is unique among ships that fast because it can sport very solid shield EHP while doing that, making it a fantastic interceptor killer.

A dual prop Firetail is about 90% of the effectiveness of a Dramiel for 30% the cost.

As for an autopilot ship, my advice is this: don't use autopilot.

Venture is the new shuttle. Great for scooting through low-sec without getting caught. Or did you want something that can actually fight?

venture is still a good choice, it has 2 turret slots.

Yay, this account hasn't had its signature banned. or its account, if you're reading this.

Autopilot is a navigation tool, not a piloting tool

Then it's not autopilot, is it?

Place Rock on the F1 key of your keyboard.

Engage Autopilot.

Just had a thought.

Is a rock a bot for the purposes of EVE?

I thought the same. Since you are not doing the keyboard input (but the rock is) I would classify that as eula-violating macro. Lol

Please lets not start a new macro discussion though. Give rocks a chance.

Just out of curiousity, what is a good setup for an Ares fit for the same purpose? Namely, used as a shuttle to zip around afk (not carry valuable cargo). Price no object.

note to self: run locate in 4 weeks and gank shiny ares.

I appreciate the thought, I really do. That's why I asked on behalf of my main. I live in Jita 4-4.
