Judging by current Q.A. standards: what else have you broken but not tested?

I am not sure they test anything.

I assume you don't work in programming? There is a very real difference between what you can test in your development setup and what will happen once you deploy.

LOL. Don't assume.

Not only are basic functionalities not unit tested, but they don't even fire up the damn game and play some of the basic roles that 10s of thousands of their players do.

The stuff that breaks isn't exotic, and if anyone actually played with these changes pre-release, they would have been caught.

CCP have a rabid audience who love the game, but they are horrible at delivering a high quality product experience, particularly when they launch a patch. Worse yet, they are completely unaccountable when they do so.

I don't know where you work, or what you do, but I would never release a patch like this to my paying clients.

Tears will be shed and pants will need to be changed all round.

Did they change the way zoom works?

I am unable to zoom as close as I used to when viewing my ship like I could prior to the patch. Just curious if anyone else was seeing this, or if its just me.

I'm having the "Socket closed" error every 5 minutes once I log on. It actually downs my internet completely and my router has to restart. This does not happen when playing other games or just using the internet normally. This has only happened since Ret. 1.1.1.

I'd really like to play again sometimes soon.
Thanks.

I'd lay good odds this is a co-incidental timing. Have you done everything like defragging your drive properly? Because 1.1.1 has not been causing this in 99.999etc% of the player base.

Things can break even if you have 100% code coverage.
Some things you just don't know before you have 20k users testing.

Like at the burn Jita event. TiDi in a highsec system caused the occasional pilot to get Concorded for no reason. You just can't test that with a small QA team.

Yes you would. If you work on something as large as I do, you would. Code has bugs, thats how the universe works. There are also deadlines you can't control, and customers waiting for patches. Every programmer I talk to on the Internet say exactly this. "I would never release code like that". Well then, that really makes me doubt you are a programmer above hobby level, because if you work on anything above school project level, there will be bugs, and it will still be released.

Killing the trigger in an exploration complex ends causes the remaining ships to warp out too quickly.

Examples:
When running the Guristas Watch complex, killing the Militant Overseer will trigger the escalation. Killing the overseer is also a trigger for a spawn of ships, which may include the Dread Guristas faction ship. However, all remaining ships warp out of the complex approximately 10 seconds after the Militant Overseer is killed, meaning you have less than 10 seconds to target and kill the DG rat before he warps off.

Another example:
When running the Guristas Hideout complex, killing the tower is the trigger for the escalation. However, there is a (timed?) spawn of ships that come in and the last spawn may include a DG ship. Killing the tower causes near immediate warpout of any remaining ships, and seems to end the timed ship spawns thus preventing the arrival of the DG ship entirely.

Not just complexes. I got faction spawn from anom and after killing faction bs rest of rats warped away. Which may not mean as much as in plexes. But however 6million bounty from commander doesnt feel so good when the rest 4 rats with 2million buonty each leaves the field. Specially when the faction spawn drops only some useles faction ammo that no one use..

Sleeper sites in WHs too! We confirmed tonight that attacking anything with the name "Preserver" during the last wave caused the whole final wave to warp off. CCP owes us some melted nano ribbons ;(

  • Mousing over a bracket in space no longer shows that bracket's text description, i.e.: pilot name, ship type, alliance ticker, and distance for a ship. A player now has to click on a bracket in order to see info on it. Mousing over a 'stacked' group of brackets -- where the brackets show close together so the game displays them as a stacked list, still works as before. This has been reported repeatedly in the Help channel, and so appears to be a universal issue.

  • Not a game-breaking bug, but is somewhat annoying due to the extra clicks required to get info on things in space, especially when the bracket profile is not identical to the overview profile.

  • Ships randomly warp out of belts, anomalies, and missions.

  • The 'Attack Battlecruisers' and 'Blockade Runners' are unchecked in the overview settings by default. Not a bug, but rather a rather nasty oversight, since players were not warned about this in advance, and for some the only forewarning to check their overview settings has been when they got fired upon by an invisible ship.

  • Not a Retribution error, but the EVE Gate mail client hasn't been displaying hyperlinks and urls in mails written in the in-game mail client for several months now. The space where the hyperink was is displayed as a blank line.

When clicking a stargate, clicking something else and then clicking the stargate again for the second time, the circle highlighting it as being selected does not appear.

Correction: The same applies to any object, not only on grid but in general. Moons, ships, etc.

Confirmed, I just tried it by clicking station, then station services, then when clicking station again the highlighting circle did not reappear.

Once something has been selected and deselected, reselecting it will no longer show the selected indicator.

In market window, when viewing details, all systems outside the constellation the character is currently in, are displayed as 2147483647 jumps away.

The following solutions have had no effect:

Changing market display settings
Switching market display tabs
Viewing details of a different item
Closing and reopening the market window
Changing range filters
Buying items, selling items, or placing buy or sell orders
Any form of session change
Logging off and then back in
Closing the client and restarting it

- - - - -

Additionally, setting destinations outside the constellation the character is currently in prohibits the use of autopilot, and does not display the waypoint route in any way, in either the UI or the overview. The route is, however, present nonetheless; as Aura informs that she cannot set the same waypoint twice, despite its nonfunctional state.

The following solutions have had no effect:

Removing all waypoints and setting the destination again
Setting a different destination in the same constellation as the initial destination
Any form of session change
Logging off and then back in
Closing the client and restarting it

- - - - -

I believe the two issues are related.

Did you try opening your autopilot settings and remove any systems in your avoidance list, alternatively check the
settings to make sure you do not avoid podkills etc, this error is usually caused by either of those two.

Hi there,

i have a issue with the audio alerts since a few weeks now. Even if hull/armor/shield is full, i get the alert, and even if im not in the mission anymore.

This is quite annoying. Please fix this so that it works properly. Thanks.

Have you tried clearing your cache?
Are you sure you don't have the destination (or some solarsystem that you have to pass through) in the autopilot avoidance list?
If those things don't fix the issue, could you please file a bugreport from within the client and then we can hopefully figure out what's going on Smile

Glad to see that the NPC warping bug is being fixed in 1.1.2. Can't even count how many sleeper battleships have warped off on me after I've killed the other ships.

mulitlpe clients now dont load properly,
exe opens patch screen then fails to close when finished , play has to be pressed and then you have to manuallly close patch screen.

Edit settings have to be reset manually to stop patcher loading and close after game starts :)
