See, this is the problem. Every time the "we want more WiS" crowd (of which I am a proud member) speaks up, we wind up in a shouting match against the "I hate fun" crowd.

Also how long will it be approximately before WIS comes out?

Some time between 2035 and never.

If by "I hate fun" you mean "I'd rather they work on something that has actual gameplay instead of space Barbies" then I'm definitely a member of that crowd.

They don't hate fun. They hate your idea of fun. They have their own ideas of what is fun, that's all.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

WiS in form of actual gameplay like exploring abandoned stations or stuff like that would have been a good start. with social stuff like cantinas, casisons or whatever coming slowly afterwards WiS would very likely been a good addition to eve for all of us.

WiS in form of no gameplayvalue but $$ monocles is what we got and CCP got the favor returned...deserved. incarna was a slap in the face and now CCP is too afraid to do anything with it which is somewhat sad as there is a lot of potential still in combining the 2 layers of gameplay. as long as it is a valuable gameplay addition i would glady take WiS content but well it takes them years to fix afk cloakers so one can only imagine when the next thing with WiS will get done ^^

If invading ruined stations with hazardous radiation inside with battles going on in space outside and gun fights going on inside is playing with barbies, then I hate to think what one might call mining a belt in a pretend spaceship. And before you say mining is a terrible example of what people do in space, you might want to consider how many people do it compared to the rest of the occupations in Eve.

CCP has said on numerous occasions that WiS won't have combat. What it will have is monocles. What do I call mining? A hentai game for masochists. It must make them hard enough to **** slap the tritanium out of those rocks. And for the record hardly anyone mines if you don't count bots, which I don't for the same reason I don't count guristas as PvPers.

I think we all have differing views on what WiS should be, and that will always be the case. I think the one thing we can all agree on is that we all need a poster of 'Unsuccessful at Everthing riding a tiger while holding a subway sandwich (with pickles)' on all of our CQ walls.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

CCP change their minds. You obviously haven't been following their prototype exploration stuff. I'll find the thread.

I think it should be Dust 514. Instead, they gave it to the console kiddies who are going to quit as soon as the next edition of CoD's yearly shovelware comes out on Gamefly.

This scares me.

The feedback from that was overwhelmingly positive.

This line in particular is absolutely terrifying. Know the last time I read that sentence? When Smedley was talking to the press about SWG's NGE patch while the forum was completely turned off because they couldn't delete the complaints fast enough. Anything that sentence has ever referred to has been horrible without exception.

It also scares me because I don't think they're going to be able to develop two games in one. Nobody else has ever managed to do it without both games suffering a lot from it. *cough* Star Trek Online *cough*

Did you even read? It wasn't just positive from CCP, but a lot of the community aware of it wants it as well. The reactions to the "We are shelving it" thread should be clear where players, the customers, stand. Some bittervets and trolls aside, a lot of people seem to want this exploration type stuff as well as future possibilities.

Lots of Dust players are already asking for WiS, and why it isn't part of the interaction between the two games. Perhaps this will motivate CCP to git'er'done.

Perfect actually, EVE development can stay focused on balance and making ships prettier, and Dust development can work on WiS for both games.
