About the visible route on stars...

Well, for some years I've managed to keep myself away from these forums but now I can't resist any longer. I have to come here and say this:

Thank you, CCP.
As someone that loves astronomy and the "little details that count", this new feature is MIND-BLOWING. I've been playing with it since the servers went back live and I have got no words to express how beautiful this is not only in terms of game visuals but also in terms of game mechanics and yet again another incredible feat by EVE Online.

At first I thought it could just randomly draw a route through the stars, but then I created a route and looked at it on the STAR MAP with the "unflatten" command. Then I closed the map and looked at it (with the same angle) in-game and this is proof that no - it's no random route.

And then changing the route and see the lines changing on real time... Well...

Thanks, thanks a lot!

Yup, love it too!

Makes the space feel a lot more vast.

I also like this addition, gives a nice feel of systems being more connected, as opposed to working like loading screens.

Very nice touch.

You can turn it on or off in the settings portion of the auto pilot info box (top left corner of your screen). I don't remember if you need to have an actual auto pilot route laid in to be able to access it.

It's so faint why would you disable it? Because you don't like beauty?

Some people can't stand that other people are happy with game changes while all they do is whine. ;)

Id ask for proof, but we can all see the front page of GD.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Turn your screen brightness all the way down. That way you will not see any aspect of the game you do not like.

I have to say I love this feature as well. It's so much useless fluff, but it adds so much to EVE at the same time. My only issue is that there is no line from the gate in the system you are currently in to the next system. I think it would be nice to have a faint line that starts "off-grid" from the gate and goes towards the next system.

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

I think its one of the most useless changes... But I'll be damned if I don't just love it. It makes no sense to have it from a gameplay point of view, but damn it helps with immersion.

If it helps immersion then it has a use..

i don't get the point of it. the line doesn't actually seem to follow any meaningful path.

It doesn't really have a point. It looks cool and that seemed to be enough to do it.

The plotted autopilot route was the work of CCP Mannapi (credit claimed by Team Game of Drones of course). He's the kind of programmer I am in awe of: use your spare time to do something awesome that makes the world (of EVE) a better a place.
