Returning player, where to go with my skills?

Ok I am a returning player from like 5 years ago. I did mining but got very bored with it and left. Now I am trying to mix things up and keep it fun so I can stick around.

Character Sheet link below (I hope)
https://gate.eveonline.com/Profile/Victoria%205ecret/CharacterSheet

What I am currently doing is working on mission running security missions, I have gotten up to level 2 and am running a ok fit combat cruiser. I am wishing to get to the point I can do level 4 missions.

I am open for ideas on things to try, I like the idea of exploration but from what I experienced messing with probes (trying to move them in 3d space with a 2d view) isn't my cup of tea, or I would really like to skill up as a explorer pilot.

Any skills I am missing and need to add to my plan?

Thanks a lot! :)

That link just goes to your forum profile.

Best path to L4 missions depends on a lot of things, including cash flow and personality. What worked for me is something like this:

  • Frigate (Start L1)
  • Destroyer
  • Cruiser (Start L2)
  • Core Competency - Basic certificate
  • T2 tank
  • Battlecruiser (Start L3)
  • T2 medium weapons
  • Core Competency - Standard certificate
  • Drone Interfacing 3+
  • Battleship (Start L4)
  • T2 large weapons
  • T2 light drones

But there are lots of opinions, and lots of ways to do it successfully. Just don't neglect the support skills. They're not glamorous, but if you don't train them you'll struggle in the larger ship classes.

1st of all the link u gave to look thru into ur skill isn't right. Tht link is u n u alone will only be able to see it.What?

Try this http://eveboard.com/

For exploration its not that hard to play around with ur probes but only after u have required all the skills needed.

You need to learn atleast Astrometrics lvl 4 + all the support skills such as:

ArrowAstrometric Rangefinding ( a must to lvl 5 )
ArrowAstrometric Pinpointing ( a must to lvl 5 )
ArrowAstrometric Acquisition ( skill to lvl 4 will do )

And also u need to learn the covert ops racial frigate due to it bonuses for scanning.

Hope it helps in some way.

Cheers Big smile

Considering that you already have decent drones skills and some armor support skills you might want to train for gallente ships. Some of them rely heavily and drones and most are armor tanked. Personally i don't like using drones in pve anymore, since the last AI update you need to micromanage them.

Another path you may want to take is minmatar ships because you already have done some training there... Then i would advise you to get decent shield support skills and T2 guns.

Exploration in high sec is not profitable but if you still want to do it train astrometric related skills. If you are serious about it get into a T3.

Personally I'd train towards T1 sentry Myrmidon (passive shield with 3-4 drone damage amps) which should be able to manage all lvl 3 missions, with the T2 sentry MJD Dominix as goal.

You may wish to consider picking up BC V and a few cruiser skills on the way to prepare for the summer patch.

Be aware that until you can fly lvl4, you will make less ISK than mining.
