Can someone explain what the "Enter Starbase Forcefield Password" option is for?

Will this allow the orca pilot to set a password and jump out of the orca without fear of someone else boarding it?

Thanks!

If you set the password, only you or another player with the password will be able to board the ship.

Be careful, because people will still be able to shoot it if you're not in hisec.

Hope that helps!

Set the password and eject. Before doing that, let me know which system you will be in.Big smile

In an effort to actually be helpful: All ships have that option, it allows you to enter the force field of a POS that normally wouldn't let you in, such as one belonging to another corporation.

At least this one lets you know he's looking to capitalize on your ignorance

And finally the helpful advice.

The reason why EVE is so hard for new players to get ahead in the game, 75% or the answers are trolls or flat out lies.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

Well the question implied only an Orca (or similar capital ships) had such an option. That basicly feeds the trolls, because it shows the user did not even realize that option was already on their rookie ship. Blink

To complete the explanation: A "starbase" is that thing everyone is talking about calling a pos. Maybe knowing that terms the question would have never been risen in that form.

What can we learn for the future? Asking isn't that easy as every one suggests. To make a question that actually allows someone to answer it in a form that is actually helpful requires some investigation effort itself (which often leads to the answer). Smile
