Retribution 1.1 patch breaks Eve under wine

Seems that the new 1.1 patch has broken Eve for me under Wine on Ubuntu 12.04. I actually have 2 PCs, both Ubuntu 12.04. One with wine 1.4, and the other with wine 1.5.23. Both have same problem.

Symptom: Connects to server and begins patch download. At the 49.9% mark the launcher window simply closes (it may be 50% but hard to tell as launcher window closes so quickly). So I manually downloaded the the patch and placed in the directory as directed here . Progress!! But backwards Sad. The launcher now closes after 25% completion.

This was early this morning and I didn't have time to check the logs before heading into work. But I'm curious if anyone else is having an issue, and if so have you solved it?

I was having this problem too , running wine 1.5.24. I turned off all of my overrides and re-ran the launcher and everything worked just fine.

I had no issues patching, creation/download/application proceded normally. I have only overrides set to native, builtin for msvcr90.dll and msvcr100.dll , wine version 1.5.24, on Slackware-current

No issues patching or running (except CQ) with slackware64-14.0 and wine 1.5.24 with no overrides.

I have a fruit cup and I'm not afraid to use it.

Thanks for all the replies, seems I'm the odd man out :/ . Removing the Eve wine overrides didn't resolve the issue. But the hint above gave me enough to go on. Unfortunately I'd installed EveMon alongside Eve in the same wineprefix and it has overrides out the ying yang. Soooo, I created a new wine prefix, installed the Eve prereqs there, and then moved my CCP folder from old wine prefix to new one. and success! Patched and ran first attempt. Big smile

WORKAROUND Works!!

I had the same issue with the 50%. I followed the instructions here to update wine,
http://www.noobslab.com/2013/02/winehq-1524-for-ubuntu.html

Then I cleared all my libraries. After this patch the native builtin etc was no longer needed.
