I used to dread organizing a fleet. It was a pain in the neck and took far to long to sort out properly.

This is a huge improvement, and is so intuitive it might even make it easier for people to take that first step when needed and form their first fleet.

Half the reason why people don't step up is they don't want to look stupid trying figure out how to form and organize one.

Apart from those who have a certain set of standard fleets, theres also those that try to have an ongoing fleet open all the time (e.g. Wormhole corps) - and as people log off and on during the day, and FCs change, it's a lot of redundant clickety clickety.

I also beleive that Eve Uni like to maintain permenant fleets like the Fortress Fleet - I can't speak for them I'm not a Unista - but I have heard other's also who would like this and benefit from it - Faction Warfare groups for example. [EDIT - And me actually - I always am in a fleet with my Alts - it's the first thing I always do and the configuration never changes.] [EDIT2 - but the current changes are going to make things much better right away - it's nice]

I'm not reading anywhere that I'll be able to move myself in fleet even when just a regular squad member, which is allowed via menus. An oversight maybe?

i had high hopes , maybe the known bugs would get fixed Twisted autopilot ,starmap,HUD,bloddy LAG causes node to go 2%tidi with 200 in local . instead you start fixing stuff i havent heard annyone complain about !

i hope you are happy when we are all holding hands and mining veldspar

I would like to see free move work as follows

if fleet boss is in squad command, limited to moving between squads
if fleet boss is in wing command, limited to squad commander
if boss in fleet command, then you can free move upto wing command

this would help standing fleets that span multiple systems

also think that if your going to implement drag and drop, then you should make hierarchy mode default

I love you, simply love you. These fleet window changes are a HUGE improvement, and will make my life immensely easier. I've just spent 15 minutes moving myself all around the fleet and it was so fun!! Cool

Now, any chance you could add shortcuts for the following?

- Broadcast: Align to ...
- Broadcast: Warp to ...

I can assign shortcut keys to a variety of Broadcasts, such as Target, Need Armor, etc., but these two broadcasts I use more than any other broadcast (especially when running PVP-U classes!) but I can't assign shortcuts to these broadcasts. Instead, I have to right-click drill down the menu to broadcast.

My mouse hand will love you even more if you could add these two little simple broadcasts to the shortcuts!

Not sure if it has been mentioned,
But in the Fleet window could it not be possible for the Fleet Boss, Fleet commander and wing commander not be able to view if fleet bonuses are being passed down through there subordinates ie as a Fleet commander/Fleet boss having a little green tick or red cross next to Wing and squad commander positions, and wing commanders see icons next to there squad commanders to help understand if the fleet is in correctly formed to allow the flow of fleet bonuses.

Ie a squad commander not with the leadership skills to scratch to allow fleet bonus or if they are docked or if they are out of system would show a red cross that indicates there is a problem with fleet disapline with that squad.

I know individual members see if they are recieving bonuses but i think it would be advantagious if the chain of command can see the levels below them to ensure proper distribution of bonus

Neat changes....

I REALLY, REALLY want to see an additional fleet info tab/page that shows the fleet bonuses we are currently seeing.

Please see this F&I post for additional details, but the TL; DR;

This tab should show the Current Fleet bonuses I'm receiving, who is providing them, and what their fleet position is.

Agreed, hierarchy mode default would make things easier, especially for newer players that don't really understand chain of command due to the current default flat mode.

Agreed, being able to see from the top down if your boosts are going through would be helpful. Even if it didn't show when they are, but did show when they fail.

Great patch CCP! Fantastic features. Fleets are now so very, very easy. Oh, and I love seeing my current route superimposed over the glittering stars. New 'common sense' overview toggles on the info panels are swish. Keep up the good work.
