Can we have that welcome mail for alliances also? It'd be very useful to automaticly be able to send out the TODO list on joining to an alliance, usually there's a lot to do, and it takes some time for the executors.

Showing who has accepted the applicant would be very useful, yes.

Also, as mentioned already, a headhunter office would be good, where people could advertise themselves, and corps could look for new players, though i agree, this kind of new feature requires a lot of planning.

Lovely changes, thank you CCP.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Nice start.

I wonder when the system allows kicking / accepting characters when they are undocked. Yes I know for most people this won't matter but for us WH-dwellers its a big deal.

While there, is there any word of overhauling the role / permission system?

But I like the small tweaks that you did - keep it going

Twisted How about adding a conscript recruit function for all those toons hiding out in NPC holding corps?

I know CCP never really intended that players avoid the full EVE experience by remaining in NPC holding corp forever (cowards). Nor did CCP intend for holding corp to become a wardec proof refuge for pirates and ganker toons to conduct business.

So how about "raffling" off toons from NPC holding corps to corps desiring recruits as conscript troops for a period of at least 1 week? Toons could avoid the draft by joining a corp of their choice within 3-7 days. Inactive accounts and toons expelled from player corps and showing no logon activity for >2 weeks would go into two different holding corp similar to deleted toons - none of whcih would be subject to the lottery..

Corps are alloted a certain number of recruit draft requests each month based on their corp size and can either accept or reject the random NPC troop offered. Also note corps do not have to request conscript members or participate in the draft.

or you can make it more complex like NFL trading draft and allow corps to trade draft round chosices etc where draft candidates are ranked and offered up by NPC holding corp (Empire race and background), total SP or toon age, and toon set corp size preference. But I suggest that in no case would specific toons be offered or thing might get really ugly.

Just trolling a disturbing new idea for changing some of the "can't fix that" issues in EVE.

Ok, having been a (small) alliance leader at one point, all I have to say is...

And THAT's what you chose to work on with the corporate interface...

... I realize you guys need to say "Look, we're doing SOMETHING"... but still that's some ridiculously low hanging fruit. it was what two inches off the ground? In an area that had received peripheral work already?

...

...

ah, you know what? just forget it... Wake me up when you guys get serious instead of just jerking around and avoiding the elephant.

sure, atm, as you are aware the buddy program works so someone you invite to play
will be placed in a npc corp, with a huge bunch of strangers, trolls and other not necessary helpful people.

to get them into a corp where i could help them, and keep an eye on 'em i have to somehow bring the process
of joining the corp close to them

on the other hand recruiting new people for an corp can be quite a pain. However most corps are interested in growing.

In our alliance (Free 2 Play), as in a few other alliances, we have a corp dedicated for recruits.
something that is also addressing Kelduums concern:
Kelduum Revaan wrote:
WTB link for alliance spais.

basically knowing that the corp is "open" allows me to not explicitely trust everyone who joined, but i get a pool of people that i can teach, watch and recruit for the other corps in the alliance of.

Basically that benefits everyone:
Benefit for the new Player: he will be with other players that actually want new recruits
Benefit for the Alliance: recruits can be gained through new players, and they can be formed right the way the alliance wants it, without being put full of misleading information by npc-corp trolls.
Benefit for CCP: Alliances who recruit this way actually recruit new Players into the game.

So, if i could go and say "instead of the rewards the buddy program offers, i'd prefer people to be auto-joined into my recruitment corp (for example by this being setup by a director for this corp)" this would be an amazing new feature for everyone.. and those who don't like it wouldn't even need to use it.

As a player who does actually want to hire noobs, there is but a single thing that is stopping me......

The ability of corp members to shoot each other without concord intervention.

Make this an option in corp settings, with a 24 hour delay timer and a nice indicator somewhere along with notification mails of the change...
And I'll hire ALL the new guys and get them prepared to face the universe of "everbody is out ot get you" that our EVE is...Smile

That would be a solution to the problem. Though I think simply limiting the time one can spend in a starter corp to say a month, and then forcing them into their racial NPC corp would work, if racial NPC corps could be wardecked.

Whoever is responsible for this is probably going to have a lot of beers from E-UNI recruiters at FanFest...

An automated/custom rejection mail would be good too, as the current one is "WE DON'T LIKE YOU. REJECTED!", but I'll settle for this. For now. :)

How does this interact with DUST? I assume the next DUST release will have its version of Apply>Accept>Mail>Join also, or will it stay with the current mechanics?

Oooooohhh to have this in Dust... Speaking of which who do I bribe in drink at Fanfest to get Dusts corp UI into shape?

I don't recall anyone ever saying they wanted to intentionally force anyone into PvP, only that if they take high risks then those risks need to be maintained.

While I see this as a welcome step in the right direction there are deeper problems with corp functionality that need to be addressed. I have no problem recruiting but I have problems retaining people due to the limited ability to secure assets in the corp and still have people able to function effectively. Especially POS life and WH POS living. Giving a toon access to a hanger so he can live out of a POS means he has access to everyones stuff in that hanger division and every POS. Until this is fixed I cant employ new people as effectively as they would hope. Its bad enough that every recruit is a potential spy without handing them the keys to the vault as well.

As I said its a good step in the right direction but it needs to be followed up with a complete corporation functionality overhaul.

Every last one of the 0.0 alliances I have joined has required an API key with varying permissions. I think an automatic API key generator with the necessary permissions should be able to be hooked into the recruitment process.

For instance, example process:

0) Corp A exists. It wants a full access API key.
1) Newbie examines corp A and wants to join it. Next to the "Describe yourself" box, a box with "Required API access" lists off all of the API permissions that corp wants, and provides details of what each setting can do. A "Do you accept these API terms?" checkbox exists.
2) Newbie applies to corp with "Hi" in the description box, and checks the "I accept these API terms" checkbox
3) Corp ROs receive application with description, and know that the "accept terms" checkbox was checked.
4) Corp accepts application
5) Newbie is informed he has been accepted. He is again reminded that he has allowed the above API info to be shared with the corp.
6) Newbie accepts and joins corp
7) Corp ROs receive API ID and Key, perhaps listed in the corp management window itself.

Now that we're getting Recruitment improvements, how about a "view count" for Corp Recruitment Adverts? Just, you know, so recruiters can see if their Adverts are actually getting any views, even if they don't get any Applications.

Aryndel's nailed a few key requirements, but the audit log aspect is very important.

"2. Show the name of the person who processed the applcation. You have things like Invited to Join on there. Something like Invited to Join by Aryndel Vyst would be even better"

I would love a way to look back over the history of an application even after the person has been in the corp for a long time.

This is a big deal for larger corps with recruiting teams of people and not just one recruiter accepting applications.

I'd like an "area of operations" section in the Corporation Finder. Even if it was just "Caldari Space" or a specific region or two, it'd save me the trouble of joining public channels only to find out I'd have to pick up and move 31 jumps into Gallente space to be close to the corp's offices.
