Gank on a bumper ship?

I set up a thorax for bumping; works great, pushes an Orca all over the place and I can push the Caldari freighters back, and at least hold the others from getting into warp.

It was too tempting not to fit some guns, so I did. Without any substantial loss in bump ability as far as I can see.

I'm just looking for some feedback from any pirates or bumpers out there, is this the way to do it? Or should I just concentrate on making a good bumper with no guns?

* also, whats up with the "look" function; it doesn't seem to work all the time.

Guns won't do anything, unless they aggress you for some reason. Although if you're just bumping in hisec, the White Hot Wrath of CONCORD will be visited upon them momentarily. You could whore on the km, but then, you could also just use your drones.

You just never know what will happen or what you'll run into is my logic. I have a bunch of kill rights, or maybe you warp into someone w a flag somewhere, or maybe someone steals from you.

if bumping is your aim, a fitting that focuses on it is what you are going for.

Since bumping is an art and a lengthy one to explain in detail, let me just say that 100mn mwd on a cruiser sized ship and some cap modifications to make multiple mwd cycles run, should be something you need to look into.

It seems like 10mwd stable is more useful than 100mwd that runs out. Can you push freighters back with a 100? I can prevent them from getting into warp with the 10, but they do move forward slowly.

i was trying to bump freighters so that they could not enter warp in a frigate today; I never kept one out of warp. The frig bounced around so much that I couldnt keep hitting the freighter form the right direction. Is it even possible to to stop a freighter from entering warp with a bumper frig?

Fit a cap booster, you only need to be going 5km/s+ at the time you bump the target, just make sure when you connect with it and transfer your inertia, the 100mn mwd is still actually active.

If it goes off just before you hit them, you wont have all that loverly extra mass added from the mwd.

A cruiser with an over sized mwd can bump as well as a mach, but is far more tricky in regards to cap management. Compared to 1.5bil for a mach, its certainly more accessible (and fun)
