If the stats released for the tornado are correct, there will be no need for the minmatar tempest anymore.


She is a wonderful rust bucket and I will miss her.


*cough ccp should really buff the tempest pg and damage multiplier especially on the fleet tempest cough*

Why Can't I have a picture signature.

Also please support graphical immersion, bring back the art that brought people to EvE online originaly.

Tornado = Pathetic Tank, Tempest = Battleship Tank
Tornado = 0 Drone Space, Tempest = 75 Drone Space
Tornado = 0 Extra Utility, Tempest = 2 Heavy Neuts

Once again are hearts go out to another brave Battleship who hast met his end fighting valiantly on the forums. The Tempest will Live on in our Minds and in our Game. Though it has died on the forums it will still exist in this afterlife we call EVE, Neuting Vagabonds, Flying along side 1400mm Maelstroms and being able to survive an attempted alpha from over 20 Drakes unlike the Tornado.

R.I.P Tempest, I will see you in Game.

Tempests docking with Tornados - this sounds like some totally hawt spaceship pourne! Sign me up for the DVD.

Were it only true .. the Tempest is easily the ugliest BS around! But I don't see how it will be replaced by the Tornado .. thing.
Which isn't exactly pretty either. I didn't like the Myrmidon so I don't like her twin sister either.

it doesn't have to be a suicide boat if you use it right.

Differnt ships different uses. Sounds trite, but it is true. The tornado has the thank of a Battlecruiser, the tempest dosnt's. Ones fastg, the other one is fast for a battleship. Differnt uses. Maybe in a fleet blob this wont matter, but out side of everyone shoot gary, i think they will perform very differently.

The Tempest has been on life support for along time. Let it die and maybe CCP will see fit to look it over and resurrect it in someway.

Though I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

I wouldn't give up on the Tempest yet.

The new BC's coming out will be able to fit larger guns, true, but they won't have the tank of a BS as I understand it. So one must wonder what role they will fill. Are they going to fight BS's? They'll be out-tanked. Are they going to fight other BC's and cruisers? They'll be out tracked.

I see the new BC's more useful in w-space environments. Smaller mass than a BS. Able to get into wh's that BS's can't get into. Less chances of collapsing wh's.

But, who knows how it will play out in the end.

Not only that, but you can't fit a full rack of 1400s to a 'nado without toying with a couple of PG mods (a rack of 1200s will use up 1080some of the 1250 PG available with engineering and AWU 5, you need a grid mod/rig if you plan on fitting a MWD and LSE for kiting).

I got no doubt a well fitted Nado, or any Tier 3 BC for that matter, would still die to a Tier 1 BS

While I dont think the pest will die, theres something to be said about the neuts it brings. Ultimately the nado will be a very strong competitor to pest in the small gang environment. The extra 2 guns help to make up the damage difference between it and the pest, lots of course not forget teh massive mach like falloff bonus.

It wont need as many lows as the pest to fit as many nanos, and its tank will easily be equal to or greater than the pest due to the fact it gets three tank slots vs the pests normal two, so unless it has really gimp base stats itll be just as tanky and easily just as fast as a properly fit pest. The biggest draw back is the drone bay, which i think will help limit some of its solo ability but can be made up for in the small gang scenarios, due to the fact it can kite and hit frigs out to nearly 80km.
