I would like some advice please guys

So I live in low sec and do a bit of pvping when my alliance needs me (when theres some gang stuff on the go im there but sitting on a gate waiting for industrials is not my cup of tea)

Anyhow I make my isk through exploration and am a bit concerned that my sec status is heading the wrong way fast. To the point where I can no longer take the loot to market to sell.

Now I know I could use an alt for the transport stuff and thats fine but what id really like to do is manage my sec status with ratting/exploring in null.

What put me onto the idea was a recent wh find in low sec which was a wh that went directly into null. It was a great evening where i ran a radar site made some good isk killed some good rats in the belts and even had a good 1v1 with a local.

So my questions are

1. Anyone know how common wh's that lead directly to null are? as ive said I do a fair bit of scanning and can honestly say I have only ever seen a handfull

2. Im wondering whether going into a k space then scanning one out to null from within there is an option? ive tried this and struggled for time due to the multiple grav and ladar sites within the two wh's ive tried it in and dont know if theres a way to determine the wh sigs at a glance or whether I should expect to have to go thropugh several wh's to find a null one.

You're much more likely to X702 into a C3-Null hole than you are to get a direct to null.

It's a lot easier to find a route to random null through multiple wormholes than it is to find a direct route to null. Your best luck is going to be finding a C2 and getting on the C2 Superhighway or C3 that eventually leads to WH space.

The issue with being in a (NBSI) lowsec Alliance is that it isn't good for your sec status in the first place. You can use the Diplomatic and Fast talk skills (social) to give you some leeway, but it simply comes down to offsetting it or dropping below -10. If you occasionally pvp it shouldn't be that much of an issue, unless you target pods. Don't pod people and your status will remain at manageable levels. Pod with impunity and you are going to have a hard time in hisec.

I find that direct K162's and S199 are fairly rare - but you can get through C3's and C2's fairly regularly. There are two easier methods to get through C2 and C3 wormholes;

- get onto wormnav.com to check if the wormhole has a null static. (you may have to trust the site in your in-game browser)
- if it does not, drop a single probe (deep space probe if you have Astrometrics 5) and check the sig ID's of all cosmic signatures in system.
- sig IDs refresh at downtime and have a restricted range (eg; QSV-000 and QSU-000). K162's do not have the same ID if they spawn after downtime. You can then eliminate all ladar, gravs, radars and older wormholes. This trick works best if, like me, you play AU TZ and are searching just before DT. You then scan these K162's or fresh ladars etc, down

- the second method requires, again, wormnav.com, and knowing your ship and skills. Click the Sig Strength link on wormnav, plug in your equipment and skills, and it tells you the sig strength of the static when you drop a single probe with maximum range. eg, a U210 for me is about 5.8% with my ship, implants, and skills so i can dump one probe and concentrate on sigs with a strength around 5.8%; the rest are likely to not be the static.

With all these methods you will be able to identify K162's inbound to any wormhole quickly, eliminate the static (if you didn't come in via the U210) and ping the outbound wormhole fast, without having to sort through 1-50 signatures.

Of course, no guarantees that you will get to nullsec every time.
