Now that the jukebox is gone...

As a newer eve player, I like the new system in its dynamic-ness (is that even a word?) but I do really wish there was a system I could point each one the sound categories to different folders, similar to the old jukebox... same effect but more control.... like when I'm chillin, listening to my collection of gregorian or e nomine, hit up my j-pop folder for busy social areas, throw up specific songs like the epic vocals like like Iwasaki Taku's "Libre me from hell" to kick off combat and grab my attention.

What? You're doing it wrong.

Take a peek at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Multiple_clients

Set up folder junctions for each instance of the client you're running, bam, full set of separate settings, including music on/off, entered account name, separated chat logs and everything else.

I only have music on on my main, and sound off everywhere else.

CCP... bring back the Jukebox... some of us really liked it -- and we miss it.

If I listen to any ingame sound of any kind, it's the Jukebox -- and being partially deaf, I still don't actually hear all that much, but I've always enjoyed what I could hear.

Thank you.

loved to play my favorite uplifting eve tracks after a mission complete and mopping up the isk in my salvage boat.
liked to skip the scary parts when flying around under pressure.
hate to be forced to listen to whatever devs deem appropriate especially the intense combat tracks.
so the slider is on the left and its staying there now.

I would be very happy if they could make it possible to kill the background music/ambiance in the F10 map mode. It is independent of the music level and distracting/annoying.

Doubt it.

Turn the slider for music down down down. I did that on my 2nd day in eve. Never slid to the right again..

Sad

The ingame music is bad and it needs an overhaul.

To be fair, if all the music plans work out to change the music depending on like if there have been kills in the system or there's a massive fleet fight going on etc I actually think that it would be too cool to turn music off!

I'm surprised so many people were using the in-game jukebox. The thing never worked correctly for me. It wouldn't go to the track I loaded, would skip tracks, and I couldn't ever get a playlist to work right. So I've been listening to EVE Radio in an oog browser for about 5 years now, winning isk and listening to music spun by a crew of international djs who all play EVE. Talkshows, dogfights, on-air roams, music in languages other than your own - you never know what you're going to hear and that's the best thing about it imo.

Aside from a silent login screen, the removal of the jb hasn't altered my game much. I can understand how an integrated music experience makes for a more-immersive, even better product but I also would've thought CCP had metrics on jb usage. The depth of tears regarding the removal of the jukebox has to be surprising even to CCP.

Did you have it on shuffle?

No no. Because it was so long ago, its difficult to remember, but whatever issue I was having was a known issue for people with my OS/Graphics Card/somethingamabob. I forget. But I wasn't the only one for whom it didn't work correctly.

RealX, look, it's true that EVE's music isn't bad (thanks btw), but some people, like me, like to have other tunes while playing.

adding to that, and I believe it's something you're not at fault, the sound engine and system of EVE needs a total revamp. even when they went "Miles sound studio" on it, it remained crap, even after fiddling with it more times than I can bother to remember.

On the other hand, I remember one occasion where randomly listening to the EVE soundtrack while unsubbed made me so nostalgic I actually resubbed. I just use Winamp as the jukebox these days.

I turnd off the music a few days into the game, but it's not just EVE. I do that in all games, i find music to be distracting.
And in EVE it took away from all the other sounds i like..

Don't be sad. I still listen to the music and have the sound on and I've been playing since 2009, with no sub gaps.

I miss the jukebox specifically because I can't play some of the tracks that I actually really like.

If the jukebox or something like it is ever reintroduced, can you add the mission music to it? The missions have some of the best music in this game.

We do need a revamped soundtrack. Keep some of the good pieces like Nouvelle Rounevor Hero and add some new ones.

Adding my support to bring back the Jukebox. No reason for the removal of content that works just fine.

I will admit that most of the time I listen to Joe Satriani's 'Surfing With The Alien' CD or something similar. However, every once in a while I'd still turn on the Jukebox and let it 'shuffle' through the playlist a few times.

Bring back the Jukebox and add an enhanced music option for those that like the new music setting.
