Would would the effect be if Monday morning after server reset. Everyone logged into Eve and Sov was gone. Not just reset but totally eliminated. Sov holding structures just disappeared.

Would the null alliances still attempt to hold vast regions of 0.0? Would they consolidate their powerbase to a smaller area that is easier to protect? Would there be a mass influx to lo and hi sec by former null dwellers who say "Aw the heck with it.".

Why would we give up the stuff we own?

It would create a more dynamic null instead of the stale krap we have now

i think this is impossible to wake up one day with reset SOV.

CCP really loves 0.0 sov, they made a lot to make it so stable and stagnating. structure grinding, power projection, moons, whatever.... all was made to make one alliance able to dominate in 0.0 sov space after some time.

While I agree the likelyhood of it happening is about as good as the Goons setting everyones standings to blue. I was curious to the effect it would have if they did eliminate it. That one alliance you speak of would IMHO be unable to hold everything they do without the added benefits that SOV provides.

Imagine no Jump Bridges, TCUs, SBUs, Infrastructure Hubs, Cynojammers, etc. How would this change their strategy and tactics?

Aside from maybe jump bridges, removing these things would do literally nothing. Titan bridging being removed might hurt them a bit, but overall it still wouldn't change a lot.

the real problem atm is not sov but blue standings. Even if you are mediocre alliance with teeth you won't attack one of those blue alliances because after some time (without SOV it will be days, not hours) they will still come and stomp you.

So i guess nothing will change. Except, for sure, tears in forums

Then CCP would need to implement some other solution to stop people flipping stations back and forth 15 times a day.

If there was no Sov then 0.0 would still be as terrible as it is now. Just without structure grinding.

then control would be implicit rather than explicit

Things would revert back to some extent to how there were before sov was brought in, though as the alliances are so large now I doubt if anything would change much.

If they also removed all capital ships that might shake things up a bit though and increase border skirmishes.

Could fear be used as a measure of control if sov was removed or do we need timers etc

Sov is a requirement for building things.

All of those jobs would fail / stop / explode or whatever they do.

This would be 'bad' for that reason, but other than a lot of bent Egos, probably just have roaming barbarians everywhere.

my guess ccp is just going to use dust to make it less of a structure grind. however everyone needs to understand back in the day it was only a few thousand players on at a single time. now we get 50k peeps online. there just isn't enough space.

I've traveled through null on more than a few occasions. Null is a desert with Oasis dotted about. Take of look at map statistics for pilots in system. Most of null is dark. There's a lot of space that isn't being utilized other than to have pos's extracting moon goo.

This is really because most systems are terrible, especially after the anomaly nerf. Not to mention systems can't really maintain that many active players at a time. Plus there really isn't much to do in 0.0 that would require utilization of systems. Rat, mine, or do anomalies is about it. Not really surprising most play other games and just wait for jabber pings.
