As I do most nights I was browsing Twitch going through various EvE streams and all of them had something in common which is becoming more and more prevalent because of Stream Snipers. The amount of Overlay area being covered is increasing to prevent the griefing, but it is almost getting to the point where the stream is un-watchable. It's an unfortunate byproduct of streaming EVE that trolls get a kick out of. The streamers that choose not to cover their overlay are forced to put a 5 minute delay on their stream which makes interacting with their viewers very difficult.

I remember during ATX that CCP was pushing people to stream and even going to the lengths of offering to promote the streams, but the current environment just is not conducent for growth of the media without fear of trolling and therefore loss of ISK which as we all know equals time.

All of that being said I thought if it would be possile to add a preset in the graphics tab under settings that would remove all location information from the screen without having to black everything out, so the streams stop looking look like this Twitch Overlay Screenshot

This was put out there to CCP, but all thoughts are welcomed.

i also am very unhappy with trying to see how other people pvp clicking on their stream to find that i cant even see how they are fit, where they are etc etc.
talking with the viewers is the leading cause of streamer deaths.....you can save yourself by jsut using a delay.... please!!!

also on a side note keep in mind that right now theres maybe 50 people streaming on a regular basis in total, just going off of other games you could expect maybe 1 or 2 out of the 50 to be really high quality streams. It will get better as streamers adapt more and more and as there are more streamers aswell.

just my two isk

so... basically you are using an overlay that uhm.. makes only the unimportant part of the game public, hence making it pointless to watch?
