Dreadnaught Balancing

Is there any hope in the future that dreadnaughts will be even remotely near balanced? Moros/rev do double the volley damage of nag, and phoenix is just a brick that can't anything unless it's a station webbed and painted.

like remove the 2 citadel torps from the nag and just let it use projectiles.

And improve the explosion velocity of citadel torps.

well it is seriously frustrating when volley damage of a moros is over 40,000 and the nagulfar is like 22k. pretty big difference.

They'll get there. I have no doubt Fozzie is well aware of the issues you describe and is not happy about the current state.

The alpha is comparable with arty, about ~60k for both ships.

That said dreads do need rebalancing at some point.

What would you think if they moved capital combat out of the grid and instead made it between grids that are 10s to 100s thousand kilometer apart? Sub-capitals would then be used to target paint the opposing ships for the capital crews.

phenix is a lot more. way i see it is this

NAG - high DPS / no TANK (primary)
PHENIX - high DPS better tank
MOROS - med DPS strong tank
REV - best tank average DPS

What are you smoking? Moros is highest dps of them all. Nag and 'phenix' as you call it, are terrible in the damage department vs anything but stationary control towers.

this is the dumbest thing Ive ever heard.

the way it ACTUALLY breaks down is like this:

moros: highest DPS by FAR (15k odd), best tracking by FAR, average tank, average cap.
rev: mediocre DPS (10.5k odd), mediocre tracking, good armour tank, best cap.
nag: great shield burst tank, slightly less mediocre dps (11.5k odd), mediocre tracking, worst cap.
phoenix: best tank, mediocre DPS (11k odd), non existent tracking (can only hit structures or stationary caps), bad cap

in all seriousness the moros is far and away the best dread. so much so that all the others are more or less irrelevant these days.

PS: wtf has volley got to do with DPS?

assuming all skills level 5 and 2 damage mods per weapon type (per hull)

NAG - 2x cit torp / 2x3500 siege arty 57k/40k vollys for 97k per shot. (weakest tank of the pack)
PRENIX - 3x cit torp launchers (all lows given to gank as shield hull) 86k per shot. (V good tank in siege)
MOROS - 3x ion siege blasters 39k per shot. (best all rounder with good DPS and reduced reload times)
REV - 3x duel gigga pulse 31k per shot. (insane buffer if hull tanked)
