If this moves more toward Kelduum Revaan's idea of the game being better tailored to Eve University, I say scrap it.

This is, of course, a game. But, what again, makes EVE University imaginary?

We're about to cycle our 3rd corporation out of the alliance and save their highsec towers. There was a 25 man BS fleet attacking their ecm/resist star for over 7hrs today. Because of all the time they spent attacking the tower the corp was able to join the alliance and will be able to leave before they come out of reinforced. If the mercs re-wardec them the tower will already be fully repaired and restronted. We can repeat this infinitely with no chance of recourse or retaliation. I specifically filed an ingame petition to see if this was working as they intended, if we would receive any warnings or bans, and CCP responded that we would not.

This is a good change. If you rely on war deccing carebear nooblet corps to pad your killboard, you suck at Eve.

its not the carebear /nooblet corps that is the ones doing it, its the pecker heads who decide to **** one off and keep hopping around in 1/2 man corps to avoid any reprecussions for there actions.

^^This unfortunately. No one cares about the nub corps, it's legit war decs where the targets **** off into their alt corps that is the problem...

Weren't you saying that you'd prefer to see wardec mechanics changed/fixed. This little ploy seems to speak otherwise.

Revaan is telling the members not to post their thoughts or comments in the thread as per #5? What if you didn't agree with the change? Who would actually put up with that bullshit? The guy is a douche.

In the past, there have been some policies in place within Customer Support that imposed additional rules onto the war mechanics available in game, such as the so called "Alliance Hopping" or the more recent "Dec Shield".

The decision has been made to lift those restrictions that affect war declarations, thereby opening up ways for corporations to avoid unwanted wars via methods that were previously considered exploits of game mechanics.

In other words:
If you can leave or declare a war, raise the costs for other entities to declare one to you or do any other war related things within current normal game mechanics, you may do so without having to keep other rules in mind.

so how come GM Karidor gets to stay where CCP Fallout has to go???

I think this change is done to reduce GM workload. I do like that they actually made an announcement of the change, so people know for sure and don't have to guess whether something is an exploit.

I think it speaks volumes that the only CSM to even comment on this is D3. Guess we know what the current CSM cares about, and does not care about.

There are plenty of ways to fix this stupid and ******** war dec system. Easiest would just be to not let anyone leave the decc'ed organization for 7 days. Then give them to option to buy out the war dec. All isk spent goes right down the drain.

Extending the war dec for another week will cost 2x more than before.

This follows a basic tenet of waging war: Anyone can take a few shots at someone. But if you want to wage a proper war, it's gonna cost ya.

If the war dec gets bought out, the same organization can not declare war again for the same amount of time already spent with the war dec active. You been at war for 3 weeks when they finally surrender, then you can't war dec them again for another 3 weeks.

I found that surprising as well. The CSM has been pretty much silent on the entire issue.

Very troubling. I think it highlights a gap in the knowledge/effort of the CSM that used to be filled in prior CSMs by having a pirate/nonPLmerc rep on.

I'm going to run again to address that gap and hopefully get this issue the proper level of attention it should have from both the devs and the GM dept.

hahahahahahahaha

that's what happens when you overpromise

it's not an easy thing to fix either, it's only working as intended for now, there may be measures in the works to rectify this temporarily legal exploit, the solution will most likely not be simple, perhaps extending decs to individual members present in a corp at dec time, rather than against the corp itself ?

That is all.

I almost cared,

The last breath of pvp just died in this game.

But if you look the eco has been crashing for the past year sense they pretty much destroyed this game with sov mechanics and pi changes.

Robotics pre pi and npc seeded 8,000 post pi 65,000 and you thought that everything would just work it self out... ROFL here is your Darwin award CCP.
