do the effects of web and neut drones suffer a stacking penalty?

After a little over 6 months into the game I finally see the usefulness of drones. I'm bummed to find out that SD drones don't stack and I'm hoping that web/neut drones do.

Neut drones are basically little versions of what you put on your ship, it's a one-time effect, so they aren't stacked.

Web drones are a static effect that modify an attribute on your ship, and thus are subject to a stackign penalty.

Both versions are about useless. You need several heavy neut drones, or a flight of mediums, to neut out anything larger than a frigate in a reasonable amount of time. Medium and light ones can basically be ignored on most ships. An entire fight ones is actually incapable of overcoming the natural cap regen on anything that isn't a shuttle or pod, and a single cap recharger is enough to ward off medium ones.

The only thing they're really good at is making barely-cap-stable ships not stable. A flight of light neut drones sucks 4.2GJ/s, 8.3 for mediums, and 20.8 for heavies.

You're getting confused. They stack, they're just stacking penalized. Successive drones are less effective in the same way that successive modules are less effective. They effects do, however, stack.

Neut drones have some use, as to ECM drones. Other ewar drones are about useless as you said. It seems like CCP forgot about the stacking penalty when implementing them, or implemented them before the stacking penalty existed and never revisited them.

A weak as neut, web & sd drones are they shouldn't suffer the stacking penalty...or at the very least should get a healthy buff.

Nope if you unstack the webbing penalty you would nerf the vindi to hell.

(every heavy webbing drone webs by 20%, if theres no stacking penatly they would be better for blapping dreads then vindicators)

That's partially wrong : 0,8^5 = 0,32768 ; still worse than a Vindy.
Though, as any ship with 5 heavy drones would be able to carry them, it's a lot, even though they are vulnerable to smartbombs.

much worse than a vindi...

A target going 1,000 m/s when webbed by a vindi (with appropriate skills and web) will be reduced to 100 m/s

5x non stacking penalized 20% heavy web drones would take that same target down to 328 m/s...

It doesn't seem OPd to me at all....
