wow, so you've known about eve for almost a decade, and you never bothered to look into the back story?
jovians: original humans, did massive mechanical and genetic modifications to themselves to further advance their race, problems occured that almost wiped out the race, they now live away from the rest of the galaxy intentionally cut off from outside interaction.
rats: they are members of pirate factions that seperated from the main factions because of differences in opinion, they are formed of entirely human ranks. not sure why you figured they were "aliens", you can go talk to them in their space in null sec, they own stations, and you can do missions for them.
slaves, people, livestock: these are all either humans or domesticated animals. as a capsuleer, there's not much use for them anyways. why would you, a god among men, want to deal with things as petty as livestock?
atmospheric flight: all of the ships (with the possible exception of the shuttles and drones) would not be able to control their movements if they got that close to a planet, why do you think they need to ship PI materials so far off of the planet instead of having you drop by in your indy to pick them up off the surface? most of these ships would just plummet into the ground if they were to get that close. besides the fact that the server's run on 1 second ticks, and you can't really do any live controls with that amount of latency between commands.

PVP MMO

EVE - PvP MMO? Nice joke. It's *the only* game where I never PvP despite it's my primary activity in every game.

And yes - more avatar content could be nice if only CCP could do it without spending millions on features which can be developed for couple hundreds bucks (check Kickstarter project for Vendetta Online - they promised WiS + planetary descents for $200k while CCP spent ~$12m afaik on unfinished Carbon).

What you do is irrelevant, this game revolves around PVP and that is a plain fact. And it's no wonder, with such mindnumbingly boring PVE.

PVP on the other hand is amazingly rich in variety and depth, and involves actual risk.

Once again, your delusions show through.
Eve, like almost any other game, revolves around PvE, not PvP.
A lot of people in Eve do enjoy the PvP portion, but there is also a large large contingent that NEVER PvP, and quite enjoy the game.

Also, hate to break it to you, unless you buy plexes, or never lose a ship, your PvP HAS to be funded by PvE, whether it is you ratting, or someone providing you the income from moon goo, or you just taking the items from a wreck, it all stems from PvE.

I know that is a hard concept for you to grasp, but try real hard.

Mining is PVP unles the minerals are only mined in missions that are spawned by NPC agents.

Been a while since I heard someone say this. Thanks for the nostalgia. Also, lol.

Wow, you know even less about PvP than I do, and that's saying something Shocked

Being CEO of a very successful pvp corporation for the last 4 years would suggest otherwise.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

You are in direct violation of Respect the EVE.

You are a disrespectful citizen of New Eden. And, when the next epic wormhole opens up and allows us to travel to a new galaxy, you will not be permitted to enter lawfully. If you choose to violate that directive, you will be shunned by your fellow pod pilots. May the Jovian harvest your frozen corpse for their experiments.

Respect the EVE.

Thank you.

Do you play the market? Buy low sell high? etc? Do you mine the belts in hisec before others do or find a backend system where no one goes so you can gain the benefits?

All of this involves other players' activities at the same time whether you're trying to find the best time to sell assets for the highest gain or a simple mining op. Even PVE in EVE has other players ninja you or attack you while youre shooting NPCs. Even the PVE in EVE involves other players that can annoy you by either salvaging the wrecks and hurt your income or bait you into shooting/shooting you. Mining, as much as it seems to be you vs. the rock, also involves the actions of other players no matter how limited or variable. From them mining belts before or after you to suicide ganks.

It all is involving other players actions. PvP does not always involve combat to be player vs player.

What activities do you do in Eve then, that are not PvP?

Destination SkillQueue:- It's like assuming the Lions will ignore you in the Savannah, if you're small, fat and look helpless.

EVE is not Skyrim in space, this is a PVP MMO with strong focus on strategic and tactical gameplay.

This isnt really correct. PVP in Eve is based around either A: Massively outnumbering your enemy or B: Attacking people much weaker than yourself in either shiptype, sp or again: numbers.

There are no tactics or strategies in Eve, this is a misconception. Strategy in Eve relies purely on numbers and income. Tactics in Eve rely purely on numbers and getting a warp in on your enemy or at a gate/station.

Eve is extremely flat in its tactical and strategic content. And yes I still love Eve, but I do not pretend there is any great mystery to its warfare. Gate camp, station camp, hit structures or get warp ins on your enemy/target. Unless its a belt gank in which case it is even simpler. That is all there is.

LOL.

Highly amusing post, thank you. Smile

Kiting, brawling, sniping, speed tanking, 4 flavors of ewar, logistics, a few types of AoE (bubbles, bombs, smartbombs, etc), capacitor warfare, propulsion jamming of various types, cloaky/sneaky stuff, hotdrops, black ops, bubbles, fleet boosts...

Tactics and counters: EVE has them. You sound like you're stuck in a blob, believing that it's the end game.
