Someone PLEASE Stop Shatner. Seriously.

I think he is losing it with dementia. He's even recently revived his feud with George Takei about not being invited to he and Brad's wedding, which Takei swears he was sent not one but 2 invitations to attend. Shatner just brings it up for hateful publicity apparently.

This certainly seems to be another attempt.

You cant stop the Shatner Juggernaut. Once hes moving, his ego is self sustaining and can not be stopped by any external means.

Seriously...1oz of Shatner Ego might be enough to power an Alcubierre Warp Drive.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Eh.

He's old. Ignore him, and he'll go the way of James Doohan.
Of course, Doohan didn't troll like Shatner.

Edit:
I've actually met Shatner. He came across as pretty decent and cool at the time. Maybe I caught him on a good day.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

He's an interesting guy for sure, and what a life. But it seems like every few years he says or does something utterly idiotic.

The only bad publicity is no publicity.

i think for me, Shatner as Kirk died off when i saw him doing late night intros to old sci-fi shows.

There was an alien bartender who served him actual drinks and this went on for four hours. I can't remember the channel, but he got loopy towards the end.

It was a nightly, or weekly thing, and i realized that all Shatner's whining over the past decade amounts to him wanting his youth back.

Even an icon like Tom Baker (4th doc in Dr. Who) can barely scratch the surface of Shatner's fame. It's understandable he would pine. Truth be told, even Nimoy's entrance to the movie was heavy handed (kirk happens upon the very same ice cave as spock on an ice world, within walking distance of a base....). There really isn't a graceful way to re-introduce aged characters in a reboot.

what they should do is allow Shatner to play acting coach and appear alongside the younger Kirk graciously in photo shoots. In this manner the torch is passed, and the original Kirk gets a nifty little paycheck and may satisfy his ego with some minor coaching that he and his friends can recognize and be proud of.

If only he could be as clear headed and cool as Patrick Stewart... but we all know, its all fights and sex with Kirk.

I vaguely remember seeing that on late night TV as well and now it's bugging me as I can't recall any detail at all.

Nimoy has been doing a wonderful job of mentoring Quinto. They try to have dinner together at least once a month or so.

But in my opinion. Chris Pine is doing just fine without any mentoring from Shatner.

Did some intensive searches for that late night Shatner thing, even IMDB, and came up empty.

Just remembered:

It's like one member of the London crew on the set of "Alien" said to another when Yaphet Kotto got upset and mildly violent and had to be escorted offset, and overheard by John Hurt: "Isn't it grand being British ?" Big smile

Hurt said they of course were sipping cups of tea.

This just seems like random banter taken out of context. Why the thread.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.
