They need to act. Too long have drones been a sideshow when it comes to weapons systems and with the latest change they have rendered them even more impotent.

My main is a Gallente pilot, specializing in drones. Since the aggro changes I have lost exactly ONE hobgoblin.
Try paying attention to what's happening on your screen, and learn what types of ships will switch targets.

Problem I see is that CCP's claim to have "fixed" the AI is complete rubbish. Y'know, the whole "cruisers don't target light, battleships only target heavy & sentries..."

My ass. I've seen battleships alpha striking light drones left and right. And the drone insta-lock is never getting fixed. 25 signature and AI is shooting them 2 seconds out of the launch bays.

They put a band-aid on a gunshot wound.

I make extensive use of sentries as well as light and medium drones.

Thus far I have seen no issue. Missions as well as null anoms/sigs just require the operator to have a pulse now.

I have noticed rats switching to drones if you don't keep shooting at them, takes a while but they do.

I for one like the new AI.

Can I redirect?

Buff drones a bit! The new system punishes people who don't manage their resources, so how about a little boost for those who do?

I am also clocking in on the "have lost very few". I missed the change when it came through, lost a flight of Hob IIs. Researched the issue, and haven't had a problem since. Fit EWAR and HTFU.

Just watched an Imperial Navy Infiltrator die in one shot to an AI battleship from over 60km away. Over 2000EHP... one shot. No warning, no time to react. Just poof.

Drones are still broken. Tengu jerks just denying it for the trollols.

I fail to see the problem.
I use a Sentry-focused Dominix to run missions to keep my standing up, and I haven't lost a single one. I have lost a few Hobgoblins and Hammerheads since the change, but that's because when I only use them after I have destroyed everything but Frigates, as Grade's with some Drone Sharpshooting and Omnidirectional Tracking Links can hit Cruisers no problem. Additionally, I have only lost those Hobs and Hammerheads because once the Frigates are the only thing left in a pocket I stop caring, and the things are so damn cheap it doesn't matter.

If you are having problems with your drones dying then I would suggest stop throwing them at ships that are at max drone control range or, if you have learned not to do that, pay some kind of attention to those little bars under your Drones in Local Space tab. If all else fails use Sentries. I sit right next to mine because they can't move, so if they get targeted I just pull them, and redeploy.

TL;DR
It's not a bad change, you are a bad player, I suppose.

Do you use heavy drones? I think those are for PvP only now.
