The Canonic Explanation :

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/FTL_communications#Azbel.27s_Insight

I'm not fluent in technobabblian, but if I understood correctly FTL communications come down to modulating the random noise generated by entangled quantic pairs.

Indeed, and this will generate similarly-modulated static noise on the other end, which can be decrypted into meaningful information.

When i said i don't know if this is the canon explanation i meant the communicatipon interruptions spaceships occassionally suffer during jumps.

It seems like the pace of the story has slowed down all around. I have been busy at work recently and haven't been on top of things either.

I'm waiting for Telegram and Adreena's reply, as I can keep up the previous pace without problem. :?

San, you seem to be missing a few words in your last play-by-post message. Or was that intentional?

I don't want to add a post to the IC thread only for OOC explanation, but Seph deeply distrusts the ship and won't dock into it unless it's necessary. But don't worry about me, I have no problems with you guys stepping into the spotlight here, it is your time to shine, like I shone during the combat scene. Now is the time for the techies, so go get them guys!

Techie misfits unite !

As a GM, from time to time (mostly when the characters are scattered all over the place), I let the players take NPCs in charge for a few scenes -usually quite minor ones (like the marines in the current scene), but from time to time more importants, with just a few roleplay hints (a player oblivious he's in the skin of The Bad Guy makes my inner mustache twirling villain giggle like a little girl).

I know some players and GMs aren't comfortable with the idea, so I'm just putting it here :)

Don't worry, I'm usually a GM, so I'm used to just sitting back and watching as my players do their stuff. Enjoy!

Ha ha LARPing and playing a table top RPG are very different indeed. By far and away the majority of people who play role playing games would not consider themselves LARPers. The... intensity of the few Live Action Role Player events I have been to need a special kind of devotion. It is much easier to sit at a table with some friends and say your character power attacks the troll than it is to put on fake armor pick up a fake sword and try to hit a fake troll. Big smile
