Soon I will be purchasing a Macbook Pro 15" Early 2011 (MC723LL/A).
Specs: 2.2Ghz i7 w/ 4GB of RAM, Radeon 6750M.

I was just wondering if anyone could share their experience with eve on this specific system. I plan on loading bootcamp not playing in OSX. What are your typical graphics settings for retribution? How is performance? Is it still worth playing eve on it?

Please don't bother about posting to get a PC instead or better MBP. That specific model maxes my budget and even if I can't play eve, it will still serve its original intended purpose.

Thanks!

Note: I do plan on upgrading the RAM to 16gb so no worries there.

With that spec you should try running native OSX. I do with ease, even run mumble, ts etc. without pain and up-to 4 clients.

Yes more memory would be good, it's also dirt cheap :)

awesome, thanks for the feedback.

any thoughts on a slightly newer (late 2011) that only has 512mb of ram for the 6750m as opposed to the 1gb?

i'm finding they can price $100-200 cheaper, so it is currently a consideration :(

I'm playing on OS X with a Nvidia 320m which uses a measly 256MB of shared video ram and everything runs fine on medium-low settings. Even with the 512MB card of the model you are looking at, you should be able to run EVE no problem. If you were to run in bootcamp, your performance would be excellent even with higher settings.

Hope this helps,
