Remote Sensor Boosting - am I missing sumfink?

Hi S&M,

as of late, i was wondering if I could boost mah laz0rs(!) optimal range by remote sensor boosting from the support char. Now, I fitted this RSB on my support char, activated it on the dmg-boat and - nothing happend. no increase in optimal, no speeding of tracking and no increase of targeting range :(

this makes me a) a sad panda and b) wondering if those modules are broken or c) I just missed something important about them.

Both ships usually (and in this case as well) run in close proximity for RAR-reasons ( ~5 km-ish), altho the RSB has no range specified anyway.

so, which one is it?

edit: ok more information

A tracking link will boost a targets ships turret optimal range and tracking, with script's to boost each

A remote sensor booster will increase a target ships scan resolution and targeting range, with script to boost each

Furthering the excellent information in Chrome Striker's post. There are two ships that get bonuses to Tracking Link Range and Efficiency (which may mean cap efficiency of the tracking link module... not too sure on that bonus)

The two ships are the Oneiros and the Scimitar. They also receive bonuses for Remote Armour Reps and Remote Shield Reps respectively.

Scythe does as well, if you don't want to train Logistics. and are ok with a T1 ship in that role.

3 actually, the T1 Scythe aswell.
The efficency bonus is applied to the strength of the module. A logi 5 Oneiros or Scimi (I think the Scythe bonus is lower) tracking link will give 50% more optimal and/or tracking then a regular tracking computer or tracking link.

thanks for the clearification.

I then probably just misread the RSBs info. that t-link sounds like what I was hoping to get with enhanced optimal and tracking :)

as the suport is used for repping and all that, I am currently relying on an dominix for this duty. with time and skills, I'll upgrade to something better.
