I had left EvE because I ran out of things to do and left in search of a game that better fit my short play times(kids).
I missed EvE's long term goals, single shard and meaningful game play.
So I asked CCP for short activation to see the changes.
I am a member of a good corp that is active in a lot of area's but here has been my experience.

Day 1 I log in and get my stuff together and move to my corps new empire AO, and red frog the rest(thanks)
I grab a new destroyer and figure to do some missions... Well I can only pull level 1's and that is no fun(not that 4's are). so do few and release i have no intention of grinding that faction. I did a few with a newbie corp mate.

Day 2 a buy a WH fit, and do a level 4 WH. Got say it was boring. Every encounter was known and scouts made it feel fairly safe. The corp had it down to a fine science. I locked tags and the biggest task was not forgetting to orbit or swap targets while reading the internet.

Day 3 real life

Day 4 I went out to 0.0 on a small pvp roam. all I had was tackle but that is fine. made about 20 jumps and only ever managed to gank a drake and a couple noob ships in 4h of play on different gates.

Day 5 more pvp on a gate camp in cloakie ships....no real fights. We ganked or ran.

Day 6......I played another game.

WIthout any real goal or objective to work towards.....i had nothing to do.
Once you have ISK and skills and your corp is well set up.....what do you do?

I mean I felt i did most of things in eve. how am i to get sucked back in? I don't need isk. What am i to work towards when i log in. What fun game play can I do during my log in period?

I mean sure there are corp goals but sitting on a random gate didn't really feel all that helpful.
There is much to love about eve but entertaining game play is just not there. Give me a goal to work towards and make it fun.
I expect to get flamed but won't reply because you can't post after your account expires but I will read.
(3bil isk and 50mil skills all sub cap...so not super elite but can do anything non capitol related))

Why not get into caps then? or join a group like EVE Uni to help the new guys out? or you could always go out with a bang Twisted . Or you could break your moral boundaries and screw with some other corps... or maybe you should just join a new corp that has long term goals. Half of my fun is on comms laughing with other corpies/alliance members while i shoot all the things in black rise (prior to a temporary move in game somewhere else)

Did you even consider working to reform Highsec and purge the carebear culture by joining the New Order? No, because you want all your content handed to you by the devs.

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

But EVE is not a life, it is a game. Some people forget that. They grind for PLEX with a desperation like that of a starving man who would work for food. They fear death, in something that is not life.

I agree with the OP. even tho I still play this game after 2years and I still enjoy it, i know where he's coming from. There are times I log in and I just find myself ship spinning, reading chat, or just playing around with fits or my skill queue. Then I just log off afterwards.
Now yes I can go roaming with a fleet or do incursions, missions, even go mine ect, ect. But really... while you do those things are you jumping up and down in your seat saying "This game is so f%#kin fun" ? I dont think so. Except for those good PvP fights that you get once in awhile, but how often does that happen and how many hours/jumps you have do go to get those fights? IF you get one. Null sec is already empty anyways. made 30j in a Rohk solo and couldn't find someone to kill me.

But at the end of the day im still logging into this game. What CCP did well is having there be a long term goal players want to reach. But does a poor job for those that just want to log in for 30min to get a quick fix in some fun.

OP claims to have done all things in Eve in 4 days. (yes he listed 6..but took 2 of those days off).

I guess there is nothing left in this game for you.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Its up to you what you want to do, there are plenty of possibilities if you have the imagination. All those things you listed sounded pretty boring though.

So it seems some people cant read the title of the thread, which clearly states he's come back to eve for 7 days after having not played for the last 260 days,if you also read he last part in brackets it also states he has 50mil sp and can fly most sub caps.

OP. I know exactly how you feel, I've played eve since early 09 and for the first 18mths or so i played 12hrs or more a day every day.

It was great, learning to fly new ships and trying out differant proffesions,(I had 5 accounts at one point).i've tried everthing in eve except being a pirate, but nothing really kept my attention,wh's are lonely places without decent access, missions are boring so is mining, manufacturing and trading, null is just as bad( wait 4 hrs for a fleet, jump 50 gates, get mobbed by supers etc or worse spend next 4hrs shooting structures) yes you can make a lot of isk doing most of those things, but where's the fun???

After that i played on and off for the last 2yrs or so,every patch i come back hoping something will grab my attention, but nothing really did until retribution came along and i joined RvB,this is the best thing i've ever done in my 4yrs playing EvE.

RvB is basically 2 corps permanatly at war with about 3000 members in each corp who just have a laugh killing eachother, you can come and go as you please and there are only a few rules(such as no podding RvB members),its great if you only have an hour or so to play as there is nearly allways a fleet up(usually 10-50 strong) you can join or we have a dedicated system for soloing,it needent even cost that much, you can fly about in a t1 fitted frigate and have just as much fun as some of the bigger ships we sometimes fly.Just a week or so ago we held an event where we blew up 26000 pre fitted frigates in a weekend killing eachother Big smile

Come join RvB and start enjoying Eve

Well there's your problem. Gate camping as almost as boring as mining.

Eve is a sandbox game. It's as fun as you make it. Sounds like you were just in horrible corps before joining RvB. I haven't join a corp since coming back to Eve, but in my last one we had PvP tournaments and various other methods of keeping ourselves entertained. Ever tried racing a badger fleet through a series of gate camps? I have and it was awesome. :D
