Hey guys! After doing some hauling and trading, buying low and selling high in other regions, I have noticed when I am comparing prices that sometimes the margin is so slim that I need to open a spreadsheet to see if I would actually make any profit after expenses are accounted for in trading. Well after getting tired of doing this for every single transaction, I decided to put my college VB skills to use.

I present EVEMargin

It is a complex profit calculator in which you enter the amount you are paying for item, amount of items, your sales tax percentage at the station you plan on selling at, broker fees, even contract transportation and broker fees for when you do massive transactions and pay others to move for you!

This is free for all traders to use, I of course don't mind anyone tossing me ISK because they feel like it Big smile, but it is free for everyone to use if you wish!

Check the screenshots in the link below to see what it looks like

If you wish to download this software you may do so at

Thanks and let me know what you guys think!

EDIT: Also did a patch update to allow more decimals for the sales tax to ensure greater accuracy. Also changed program name

After some googling, yes it used to be. This is in NO WAY affiliated with the website EVE-Profit or anyone involved with that.

In fact I didn't even know it existed until this post Lol

I have excel setup to do this. I don't need an extra program. Plus there is the risk of not knowing the source of the application and if there are any threats inside of it.

yes

this window has relevant numbers, but is like only one row in a market speadsheet. might be more help to put the calcs in a google sheet rather than an app

the original eve-profit did alot more. apparently source here http://sourceforge.net/projects/os-eveprofit/ and hosted here http://www.eveprofit.de/. according to this thread, anyhow https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=92350. not sure if it works, tbh

You can trust me i'm from the internet!
Haha just kidding I understand perfectly.

As for utility, if spreadsheets work better that you guys already have set up then excellent. However I do feel that this can be a useful tool for beginner traders as it is easy to use and straight forward.

Me myself I like to buy things low and sell them high in another region and this helps with some of the figures I have written down.

Such as I see ______ is 2m on ___ market and I can sell it for 2.2m on the other, will I make a profit after taxbrokers, how much will I make? If I am doing a mass order how much will this cut into my profits precisely and what is the average expenses/profit per unit?

If even one person gets use out of this I will be happy knowing I assisted someone Big smile

may want to consider a name change, other than that more tools in the toolbox never hurt anyone.

One advantage of .net is that - unless the program's author has taken special precautions (which Kazuma hasn't) - the bytecode can be trivially translated into readable C#. There are excellent tools that will do that job for you - redgate's .NET Reflector (grab the trial of the current version or try to find the free version of Reflector 6 somewhere) is one of them, the free ILSpy is another one.

(Kazuma also provided us with a debug build of EVE Profit and even included the appropriate pdb file - which makes it fairly easy to go step by step through the program if that's your cup of tea.)

tl;dr Kazuma makes it easy for you to examine his program (sans the installer) without the requirement for sourcecode access (and then having to verify that the sourcecode he supplied actually compiles to the assembly he distributes, d'oh).
Instead of writing tinfoil comments you could just do your own homework.

Did you have trouble using it after the self setup? Or trouble actually doing the install?

WHile the batch file was processing there was a error that said that 64 bit was not valid, or some message like that
