You do realise that they have been talking about and planning WiS for 5 years. Then with 9 teams of 70 devs created one room for one race but instead of finishing it in any way came up with the NeX store - even messing that up by creating macro-transactions instead of micro-transactions with their bloody $80 monocle.

I want FiS fixes first, especially hybrids, and I think the winter expansion should be great. However, I also want some kind of idea of where this game that I pay hundreds of pounds to play over the years is really going.

I'm really glad that CCP are (hopefully) releasing the racial quarters because it will at least make CQ vaguely finished and will probably look great for new players, who seemed to be most disheartened by the lack of a human avatar until Incarna.

There is a distinct air of CCP trying to appear to do the right thing at the moment. Two clear messages 1) "We're fixing space ships like you all want" and 2) "And we're gonna junk WiS like you all want". Wait!?!?! What?!! No! That's not what we want. We want features that are finished, polished and actually do something not to see all the half-baked features ripped out or officially abandoned until further notice.

This winter's expansion is an important one for the community. A lot of fixes that have been asked for for a while. It should make people happy and the game more balanced and fun. After that it would be great to see some clear features be planned, announced and finished.

The day the good people of CCP says they have fixed FiS will be the very day that I stop playing. Saying that a mmo has reached perfection is just as good as saying we are done with this game.

There is always something to be worked on, fixed, or added. A neverending cycle.

So, to the players saying let CCP fix FiS before adding WiS, I say you are way too selfish. We WiS guys want stuff too!

I am fine with a good balance. Add some FiS one expansion, and WiS another one. Or drop a bit of both everytime. A game should be enjoyable for everyone. Not for one specific demographic.

The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't.

Yes I well and truly know. It makes me sad seeing those old Ambulation videos and presentations and then look at what we got with Incarna. Not to mention the debacle of changing clothing, etc going from being player produced in Ambulation to blatant anti-sandbox microtransaction money grubbing in Incarna.

Well CCP just had all their future plans turned upside down so I would expect even simply determining a new roadmap to take some time. Worst thing they could do at the moment is make a lot of promises without delivering.

I'm sure the RP'ers will be happier as well. Smile With new players I think it's a mixed bag where some care that there is an avatar whilst others don't, pretty much like the playerbase now.

My take on what is happening is that because of the heat that WiS has received recently that CCP are laying low on the subject. But I believe that they will continue to work on it, they are just not saying so publicly just yet. Does Hilmar truly believe that WiS is unwanted after so many players telling CCP for years that they want WiS, I'd like to think not, otherwise maybe he really hasn't learnt much from recent events.

I know one thing for sure, CCP need to take a long hard look at WiS and determine how to make it engaging gameplay wise. Something that seems to have been circumvented with the NEX store, as now possible features like player produced clothing, ship painting, CQ additions, etc were removed from being something for the players to do.

Nex (Cash Shop) / Aurum - removing sand from the sandbox since Incarna. Currently the only use for aurum is to buy virtual items in the in-game store, but Cockerill expects to expand its uses in the future.

Certainly not fixed to perfection, but CCP have allowed to many bugs in the game to remain. A couple may not be to much of an issue, but when you allow more and more of them to go unresolved then eventually they'll come back to haunt you.

I'm far from selfish because I want to see WiS as well, but I'm trying to look at what needs to happen to move forward as realistically as I can. And don't get me wrong I realise that it's damn frustrating waiting for more WiS features, especially after how long ago it was first mentioned (2006).

Regarding balance, yes I'd like to see that happen eventually as well, where both FiS and WiS are not only added to but integrated so much that it will just be called EVE.
