I'm sure plenty of people use the cancel button, just because you haven't doesn't mean it is rarely used.

Get wardeced and need to take down some labs for hardeners/guns? If you can't cancel the jobs I'm fairly sure you cannot un-anchor the lab(s). Not specific to simply wardecs but any situation where you need to tear down your labs/entire POS.

The button is lame anyhow, as it doesnt free up slot time for the slot owner, only the installer.

I once asked if I could use this to shut down systems in empire and was told that I would receive a banhammer for doing it (I can install about 150 production/ lab jobs).

I am not sure if you can unachor a lab while it has a job going, I think you could in the past but dont think you can now. I am fairly certain I unachor'd a lab once, found it stil had jobs running, and put it back up to deliver (but that was a long time ago so cant be 100% sure).

You can. The slot frees up.

I ran a small t2 production corp for a few months-- eventually got so burned out I quit the game for awhile.

There is currently no way to set corp roles that allow your members to build things, without massively exposing yourself to corp theft and the OP's cancel job problem. That makes recruitment painful, and made me a nervous bookkeeper paranoid that every new member was skimming just a little bit off the top...

Also, holy bejesus clickfest. It's been awhile so I forget exactly, but it's something like 7 clicks per job to install, which means 70 clicks per batch on a 10 slot character. Depending on what you're building, you could do this several times a day. Every day.

And let's not forget just how terrible POSes really are. Can't see what's in storage unless you're 2500m from the array, can't move things around between arrays unless you're within 2500m... Why not just let me link all the arrays/labs to a corp hangar, and use it as the primary i/o for each job? Or let me build from a station, like you can when you research?

I've been playing since rev II, and the S&I interface is probably the only part of the game I haven't seen get completely overhauled. I fully believe that it's terrible enough to impact t2 prices-- if CCP ever fixed it, high volume t2 mods would get less expensive.

I have been waiting for CCP to fix this issue. Honestly I don't know why it hasn't been fixed yet. It is clearly broken.

Come on CCP throw us a bone already :-)
