Hello, I'm not sure if there are topics out there or not but I have a feeling there is. Anyway I played EvE back in November and early December when Inferno was out. I never once experienced any of these problems.

I recently got back into the game at the end of Jan, basically a few weeks after Retribution came out. Well as of a few days ago the game is almost unplayable, it either freezes or the socket gets closed, or the game becomes unresponsive. While I can open up some of the windows in game I cannot click on anything or any of my commands will work.

I have Mountain Lion, and it is the newest software update (not sure the number. I think 10.8 or something like that)

Now I have both run the game through Steam and not through steam.

I don't know what the problem with it is, but like I said while I was playing Inferno there was no problem at all. And only in the last few days has this problem began to occur.

If someone can help that would be very much appreciated, Thank You.

EDIT: After looking at some other post I have done a few test. I brought up the Star Map and every single time my game became un-responsive. Meaning I was unable to activate anything, none of my commands would work. It just seems to be opening the map is what is causing this problem. Thankfully I am just mining so using the map wont be that big a deal for me right now. But I hope this can be fixed soon.

It may not be something for CCP to fix, because not everyone is getting it. It may be an issue at your end. My map works fine. My Mac client works fine on my MacBook Pro. No crashes, no stutters, no socket closed errors, no freezes.

So, what can you try? There are the standard things to try: Clear cache, run the repair tool, then as a last resort, download a new copy of the client. (If you do the latter, save the old one and the application support files under some other name).

I do know this: Sometimes the Mac client glitches itself, rendering it unuseable. To keep this from happening I make one clone for each of my accounts and just run the clones. The only time I run the actual main install is when there is a client update. If a clone gets glitched, its very fast to make a new one.

Well I have reinstalled the game and it seems to have fixed the problem, only once in awhile does the socket close. But I think that might have been due to the weather or something.
