Thanny. Easier to fit and tank with. More versatile too.

What kind of PvE are you looking at?

If you have to ask which ship is better, a capital isn't for you tbh.

I'd take the Thanny though because of the DPS increase. Depending on how difficult the rats are, you might wanna consider a chimera, because shield is easier to omni with.

Archon imho. Sentry DPS reaches thanny fighter dps and is most used in pvp.

Man I've been wondering the same thing for the same space, I'm going with a chimera cause of angel damage

Assuming you have racial carrier at least to 4, I would prefer the thanatos. However, if you plan on soloing the boss stations, from 8/10 or 10/10 plexes, those caldari resists sure look tempting. Remember you have to keep your cap stable to jump out if reds show up.

If you use fighters, thanny, for the dmg bonus. If you use sentries, chimera does fine. 4x drone dmg mods in the 4 lows, 3-4 omnis, and you've got 3 mids to run shield tank with, not that you'll need much tank.

Why the hell do you need more then 3? In fact if your using sentries on a carrier your already fail as you grow used to afking (browsing web, distractions etc). Just don't rat with a carrier.

I'll have to agree with the earlier sentiments and recommend the Thanatos. That and it's just over all a fantastic Carrier

ty for the help i can now fly a thanny not good but i can fly one and working on gallente carrier 3 right now are there any skills that would be a must besides the jumping skills

I know ppl who train only archon for the sole reason of avoiding POS rep ops. They're good ppl, just not big on the boot-licking department.

Sentries are back with drone dmg mods. And nothing wrong with ratting in a carrier, beats ratting in a BS. This advice fails.

Only thing I could imagine is med slots are needed for other stuff (sebo?) - so a shield tanked Carrier comes out with less tank at the end. But even then the Chimera has an inbuilt resist module which frees up one med slot.

True... the Chimera has a resist bonus... and shields also have the ability to regenerate over time. But, it is easier to make the Thanatos cap stable and perma-rep even with dual capital reppers. Fitting is also easier too.

One of the things the Chimera would be able to do better than the Thanatos is make better use of the Drone Damage Amps.
