As Elite is the game that got me in to spaceship games, I of course am super excited about it. Will it stop me playing Eve? No, of course not. The two are different from the mmo standpoint, different enough to co-exist in my opinion.

I'm quitting. Bye! Frontier was the best game ever made and Dangerous will be amazing. DB always intimated that he wanted to produce an 'mmo' but not fall victim to instancing and 'the grind'. I think the way they're going about it is brilliant; you can play offline single player, or multiplayer balls deep in a persistent meta data environment.

I thought you were kidding til I saw you're selling your main!

Premature may be?

The game is prolly 2 years away, and could suck!

Hehe was quitting anyway. Just thought it would tie in nicely with this .. Big smile

The good thing about eve is that it is here already, however it's core mechanics feel old and there is huge room for improvement. These new projects could address some of what is lacking in eve so I will watch there development with interest.

CCP has not had a perfect record when introducing new features, so they will have to keep their focus and not get distracted by bloody vampires. The room for making mistakes will get less, not just because of competition from space MMO but the development of the industry in general.
