I've done some roams in Null. Had some good FCs and some bad. I would like to try to become a good one.

By 'good' I mean brings as many ships home as possible, while still accomplishing some objective, even if it is just a patrol.

I think I have seen some courses offered, but can't remember who.

I know it is a pretty generic question, but . . .

Hahaha. Who would want you to FC for them. You'd probably disband the fleet mid fight because you got your ship blown up. This has got to be a troll post.

I believe it is Agony Unleashed/Agony Empire that offers FC training along with their other pvp courses. The best teacher is experience though. We, in the honourable starship guild Goonswarm Federation encourage newbies to start leading fleets right away.

You could take a look at the Agony classes they will make sure you got the basics 100% right.

In RVB we do always look for new FCs and many of the older FCs tries to teach newer FCs (so we can just slack and let enother one herd the lemmings). And Once in a while (which is actually tomorrow) we have some FC classes. RVB wouldn't teach you to FC in 0.0 space, but it will give you a basic understanding of FCing. And then you have to combine it with your 0.0 experiance (which you can get from the agony classes) to be able to FC 0.0 roams.

But remember one thing: A good FC isn't just one who brings many ship back home again (whats the point of undocking if thats the goal?) but is instead able to take a fight against the odds and turn it into a victory.

I'm not a gladiator. or a member of the Spanish Foreign Legion. (Famous for their motto. "We live to die".)

But thanks for the tip on Agony Unleashed. That sounds like the one.

Agony seems to be the one you want. Or you could join TEST. We encourage day 1 old newbies to take out a fleet, to see if they enjoy leading autistic nerds around.

You must understand though, the primary job of an FC is not to get kills, thats secondary. EVE is a Sandbox, that means it's pretty boring without content. That is the job of the FC, generating Content. It doesn't matter if the FC is drunk, and can only grunt his commands out, or is Shadoo, Dingo, Kane, Vee, or any other.

Welping a fleet can be fun,(And some believe it's the best way to learn) and is no big deal. but getting in a habit of writing an After Action Report(Either public, or for yourself) where you note what you did, what went wrong, what you learned from it etc. is a good idea.

Fly dangerous mate.

That's ok. Not everyone can afford the best training.
