(Idea) Corporate Ore or Minerals Sales Tax

Fact is 100% of all corps have no way of taxing miners. A glaring and obvious problem since the birth of New Eden. Unless they are killing Null Sec rats with their mining vessel they aren't helping to cover the corporations bills. Making miners a drain on all corps that have them. If you are are part of a corp you should be doing your part o make sure it survives.

I try to be nice and mind my business just shooting lasers at rocks. There is just way too many asshats in New Eden for that to happen.

If you want your miners to pay tax to your corp just tell them to give you a % of their market sales, mining itself does not make money, the sale of minerals does, are you saying you want tax on market sales?

Which means you'd have to trust them to be honest about it (hint: they won't), and even if they did want to play ball, you'd have to chase them around to make sure they pay up. Multiply that by however many people in your corp mine and you'd see why that's just an awful idea. There really needs to be some way to effectively tax mining, as it's the only corp activity that can completely avoid that.

This is an issue that goes back years, pvp'ers lose ships, pve'ers pay tax but miners pay nothing.

I'm not sure how CCP can deal with it though. It would seem a bit odd if ore somehow magically disappeared, so I suppose some type of tax on the yield would be required.

Problem would be as to the basis on how the tax would be calculated, the market price would probably be too volatile to be fair to the miner, but perhaps a fixed charge per unit per ore type might work.
