Whats "bear" content?

You'd say "easy" to that. I cannot speak for others. But if EVE goes the down the "easy" or "bear" path, CCP will lose my subscriptions.

Blizzard has lost mine for good because of this.

I don't think "easy" when someone says bear. I think Baltec meant to spell "Beer". Its kind of funny that you interpret his meaning as "easy" regardless of what was written. I guess he doesn't actually need to say anything for everyone to know what he thinks. Thats cool.

The stuff they were working on before last year. Retribution is what the EVE playerbase wants.

Oh, you meant bear as in care bear! Dur

Re retribution; Looks like cool ships and easy buttons to me. I remain hopeful that people want challenge and new ways to interact. However the response to the IttyV being a noob ship is perhaps telling. The way to close the power creep gap is by buffing the bottom not nerfing the top. All those big ships being usable by noobs will increase the PLEX that they buy...that will lower the Isk price for PLEX.

I hope CCP is keeping records of the why and how of these choices they make, man I would love to be a fly on the wall of the CCP conference room sometimes.

And next we'll see a thread about how EVE is dying. Oh wait. There's already been a few. Must be time for the one where WiS and dress up dollies will save EVE because so many Turkish men will suddenly flock to the game?

EVE is not dieing, it just lost 50,000 subscribers between March 2012 and December 2012. Bear

Haulers are going to be rebalanced too. There probably is not going to be a top and bottom anymore. Just ships being good at doing something.

Remove standings and insurance.

Turns out, PvP content was a reason to subscribe only to 21% of all new players in 2011.

tell me about your fascinating findings about the NPE, that people don't like the skills systems, so lets get rid of that.

Just want to state that this little research was started after reading an article at The Mittani.com. It was them who pointed me in the direction of how the number of 450k subcriptions actually included Serenity.

Yet retribution which mainly deals with pvp is the best expansion for years after many pve focused expansions failed to deliver.

Ill take more people playing every day over some survay most didnt fill in.

Hey, I can come up with conclusions from data too!

EvE is not carebear enough to attract the Chinese. But who needs the world's biggest population for sustained growth?

Fact: If the Chinese aren't forcing their prisoners to play your game you really haven't accomplished anything.

There was certainly a dip in players after Incarna, mostly due to bittervet rage and the crack down on bots which lead to a decrease in subscriptions.

However it's definitely back up now. I remember during Incarna, you would generally see around 34,000 people online at the height of the day. Now it's around 50,000 to 52,000 so there has been a significant bounce back.
