Killrights OP?

Many of you may have seen the thread and watched the video of 18 RvBers failing to suicide gank my Noctis.

Even though they failed to kill me, I got 18 killrights, each lasting 1 month. Not only that, but those 18 killrights were all immediately put up for public sale so that anybody in the game can avail themselves of them (by paying me.) Not only that, but if someone buys the killrights from me and derps (fails to get the kill) I get the killright back (that event transpired yesterday, thanks for the 50M!)

tl;dr It seems unfair/imba that killrights for a failed gank attempt last so long and that endless attempts at revenge are permissible. If they derped when they tried to kill me and I derp when I attempt revenge, it seems to me we're all-square.

Revenge is a dish best served after it's had a couple weeks to simmer into a boiling rage.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Killrights are best used when they have 30mins left on them and the target believes he is safe to run his freighter now.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

QQ ******* Q... you guys need to suck it up and be men. If you fail at EVE it should haunt you until you quit the game. That is how EVE is intended to be played, If you ever make a mistake you should NEVER be able to recover from it.

All these tears are making me thirsty.

Now with 100% less Troll.

And yes, the guy whose killright got activated should have undocked in a noob ship and let somebody asplode him, but any game mechanic that encourages (requires) that sort of behavior leaves quite a bit to be desired imo.

At 50mil a pop, why would he want to do something so incredibly stupid... Ugh

If somebody does collect the kill right he'll need to be flying something fairly expensive to make it worthwhile to pop him, unless it's just done for the lulz. Your average RvBer is going ot be running aorund in a T1 cruiser and down most of the time... and it's not like he isn't planning on losing at least a couple of those ships that night anyway.

Edit: For a month of extra unexpected PVP opportunities we should make a habit of getting kill rights on each other and putting them public for free. Smile

They're not really OP, because if they're priced too low the target will just kill himself with his salt and if they're too high no one will buy them. Usually people don't have enough sense to think about that and price them too low or too high.
