Perhaps the use of the word reimbursement in the devblog wasnt ideal ... perhaps change the heading for. What this means for YOU directly!

I really don't think that would make any difference... people will latch onto single words and form conclusions from them without reading everything of relevance.

Apparently each level causes a 10% reduction in jumping to conclusions.

Training this should be mandatory before people get DevBlog access. :I

Have you started drinking heavily yet? Oh wait, CCP developer.... nvm.

Ytterbium's post and now this.

Even though I facepalmed just from reading the topic's name, reading the posts was worth it.

"We want PvE activities to require active participation and mirror PvP more closely." Stacking penalty for NPC EWAR then? Lock range under 9km from over 100 in a BS is not fun. Nor is two NPC web drones making me crawl 10m/s. PvP SW-900 x5: 75m/s.

Noooooooooooooo it doesn't work that waaaaayyyy Sad

You only get skill points in your allocation pool if you have the Destroyers / Battlecruisers skill, but nothing in the Frigates / Cruiser skills. Otherwise we'll just duplicate the skills, you don't get to spend anything.

From the blog:

  • Removal and refund of all Destroyers and Battlecruisers skill books at the NPC order price.
  • Partial skill training will be properly be saved and duplicated. If you are halfway between Destroyers 3 and 4 when the change hits, your progress will be properly copied to all the racial Destroyer skills you are eligible for.
  • If, for some odd reason, you have Destroyers and/or Battlecruisers skills, but have no Racial Frigate/Cruiser 3 at all, then the skill points will be moved in the free allocation pool when the old skills are removed.
  • Skill queues having Destroyer and/or Battlecruiser in-training will be paused at the time of the change. If you expect to be away for a long time when the reimbursement hits, please make sure you don’t train either of these skills.

The only reason I can think of doing this would be if you were mapped for Perception and Willpower, didn't have any of the Racial Hull skills, but wanted to train some Int/Mem skills without remapping. That way, you get 2 million skill points that you can then apply to your support skills.

Even then, you are probably still better getting the racial and hulls skills up, as you are probably going to end up training them anyway and you save yourself a decent amount of time training them in the future.

I'm putting mine into "Wormhole Displacement Generator V." Wormholes are going to be a whole lot more interesting.

If people receive SP from ccp I'm sure everyone would rejoice besides the angry vets which just stay angry.

Does that apply to the "Jump to Conclusions" mat?

Asssuming you have Destroyers V, BC V and your Cruisers to III you will be getting around 6+ mil SP.

What are you going to be dropping it on?

JDC V for my main
Capital Ships V for my alt
Marauders V for my other alt

That doesnt mean you get 6m+ sp free.
It means your sp in your character sheet info is going up because of the new skills.

I have read the thread and fully understood what has been said here.

One question though. Now that it has been mentioned and everybody wants some ... when do we get freely spendable skill points again?

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

The next time:
A) They remove a skill and don't replace it with an equitable skill (a la Learning Skills).
B) The hamsters go on strike for 16 hours with no explanation (happened following an expansion update once to my recollection).

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

No, that is why we get them. I am asking when!

A & B indicate why. The line directly above is an indication of when.

Feel free to read it as "We will get more free spendable skill points when either A or B happens again."

Although a more accurate response is probably "When CCP feels like it." Much like an investment, past performance does not indicate future potential where CCP is concerned.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

You get spendable SP all day every day.

This is how you take advantage of them:

1) Start a skill training.

C) You jump into a clone with learning implants but you don't actually train any faster than you were before.
