There definately should of been alot more warning that tickets were getting low. A log in splash screen on the day the tickets sell out is a bit of a joke.

This is what i've been thinking aswell... If tickets were selling that quickly, a lot more notice may have been in order. There was nothing at all before that splash screen and by the time people were actually seeing it the tickets were gone....

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

Sorry for sounding selfish. Last year, I enjoyed that Fanfest did not feel overcrowded. Yet, I could not attend some sessions because the room was too small. If possible, I would rather have the event not getting bloated with players who cannot plan.

On the internet, you can be whatever you want to be. It is amazing that so many people chose to be stupid.

We're looking into what options we can explore to resolve this issue. We naturally want everyone who can come to Fanfest to be able to attend, but there are limitations at the moment, especially this late in the planning.

Thumbs up

Well that is unfortunate. I've been trying to make it for years, and this year it actually looked like I could make it happen. If they start selling out this early I doubt I'll ever get to go unless I quit my job!

Luckily I haven't booked anything yet because I was still awaiting approval from one more person.

From the experience of last years, when (and I hope you do) you inform the bar owners in Reykjavik that not only you sold out, but continue to bring in people, they might get big eyes. Be sure to do it in the lines of "Brace yourself, fanfest is coming" .

Also: what is the total number of (regular) tickets? How many were sold?

Well, they oughta know what to do with them hogs out there for shure.

Need a ticket !

Is it legally possible to buy fanfest tickets from people who bought one but change their mind about going there?

I am really sad to see that there are no tickets left so early. Cry

I have no sympathy for people like this. They must miss out on a lot of things.

because there was no warning that demand was so high this year (i mean seriously, sold out only 7 days after early bird specials are done?)

It's the 10 year annivesary of EVE & tickets have been on sale for 2 months now.

My booking slip says I have to bring the reference number & card used to purchase the tickets, so probably not.

Tickets have been on sale for 6 weeks. Why would you buy plane tickets and book hotel rooms to attend an event to which you haven't purchased tickets?

in order to ensure that you could actually attend and not sleep outside? Booking the airline tickets is a bit of a PITA for me (multiple connections, making sure I am not commint to staying overnight, ensuring enough time between connections) as well as making sure rooms are available to stay in and that these are affordable (some rooms are EXPENSIVE). Holding off on the thing that people didn't expect to sell out is not suprising (i mean really, outside of the 1 day warning who expected tickets to sell out 1 week after the early bird ended?)

FF tickets are easier to get refunded than airline tickets are, no matter what excuse you use buying travel tickets before buying venue tickets was a bad idea.

Not trying to be a jerk but its the same with most attended events, the venue is always easier to recoup your money from than the mode of transit is.

For those that have bought flight tickets and hotel rooms. Just purchase the online steaming of fanfest, and watch it as you fly in and out and stay at the hotel. Should be a blast!!!!!

To OP, they cant. It would totally ruin the exclusivity of wealthy people club feeleing if just anyone could get in fanfest...

Personally im not going. Main reasons: Damn expencive flights and fanfest ticket is not ecaxtly cheap either...

And knowing my personality i would ust stand there feeling the atmosphere and not manage to talk to anyone there the whole damn time. Yes im that intovert as personality. Makeing friends IRL is hard enough, not to mention in eve where everyone is looking chance to rob you blind Blink
