Yarr! There are many many pirate corps. Some of the pirates hang out in Crime and Punishment, and recruitment happens, like with everyone else, in the Recruitment Center. Some have blogs or their own websites.

There are many many many of them out there.

Best way is to just fly out to lowsec in a little frig and fight one. They'll prolly try and recruit you after they karate chop your ship in the balls.

Your gonna be MUCH more likely to find a good corp after you've been subbed a couple of months. I'd suggest most pirate corps will be wary of your trial account, as they tend to attract a lot of revenge AWOXers.

Good effot tho, as said above go to lowsec and get destroyed. Fight well (Die well) and they may even be willing to talk to you based ont he fact you are in lowsec already.

1. Grow balls and go to lowsec
2. Rub new balls in face of biggest guy you can find
3. Hope big guy likes your balls, and invites you to join his club.

This is pretty straight on. A lot of fail pirate corps will accept someone extremely new, but more established organizations will only accept new characters if they show a lot of potential and motivation. This means flying down to their home systems and dying (probably a lot) until they respect you.

Edit*: To add to this, this typically isn't done from some elitist standpoint. It is done because life as a pirate can be extremely difficult, especially for new players. It takes a lot of pvp experience to make life as a pirate affordable. Most well established groups are too busy shooting **** to be bothered to train players on teh basics

I has all the eve inactivity

There are a number of pirate corps out there who are new player friendly, don't believe anyone who tells you that there aren't. Also lots of corps that aren't necessarily focused on piracy but will support you if you want to take your game in that direction. You can always get started solo too.

One confusion that a lot of new players have is that there are several different definitions of piracy in EVE depending on who you ask. Some people will tell you that pirates live in lowsec, and that they are all about hunting down wayward carebears and ransoming their ships. This is a narrow definition. Other people will tell you that it is all about sitting in gatecamps and blapping the poor scrubs that jump into you. Another simplistic definition. In today's EVE many of the true pirates have positive sec status and live in highsec, where the environment is more target rich than in lowsec.

There are as many different ways to be a pirate as you can imagine in this game. The important thing is to have a little bit of creativity and a lot of balls, and to ignore everybody who tells you that you can't get started today if that is what you want to do.

Edit: Eve Uni did good interview with a bunch of pirate CEO's and discuss recruiting.

It's half way down the page under "Piracy Q&A"

I'll echo what others have said and advise you to fit up some frigates, head out into low sec and pick some fights. That's what I did and you'd be surprised how friendly pirates can be when you shoot them back.

Try talking to people you engage, some will be dismissive of new players but many will be happy to offer advice and may even recruit you into their corp.

If you're looking for relatively easy targets, other new players rather than experienced pvpers, I'd recommend starting in essence

particularly Adirain, Aeschee and Lisbaetanne. This area attracts a lot of new players and is a target rich environment, just be careful, the wolves can sometimes outnumber the sheep.

I'll also give a brief plug for R1FTA's feeder corp, the Black Dragon Fighting Society, a great place to get your first taste of low sec piracy and pvp.

Go out to low sec
Get killed
Contact your killer and have a nice mature chat (whining doesn't get you anywhere).
Repeat the above.

Eventually people will start to know you and some corp might be interested in you cause they can see a great pirate in you with the correct teaching.

That being said, this on a trial account is a bit harder cause:

* The meta gaming called spying is big.
* The meta gaming called awoxing comes close to that.
* Trials are "unreliable" in the sense that you don't have a clue if they continue playing or just disappear from game after their trial runs out. If you have someone who paid some subscription already, it's more likely that he will stick around.

Lowsec -10s (the most common meaning of the word pirate in eve) are, on average, very good pvpers as compared to people who dwell in most other areas of the game. Their behavior tends to be one of mostly catching people in the wrong neighbourhood and more-or-less-consensually fighting each other.

This is a generalization, of course. There are dudes all over the spectrum in all areas of space.

Most of the best dudes who find new and interesting ways to violence people's boats unexpectedly live in highsec in my experience. Some do it for profit, which would make them fit the traditional definition of a pirate, and some do it simply because they enjoy it and view profit as a bonus.

If you'd like to get involved in the latter, convo or mail me and we'll get you hooked up with some things you can do while very new to destroy some boats, make people mad, and maybe make a little money off of it.
