Can we get a email added for when a applicant applies to the corp? That way corps can provide additional instructions upon applying to the corp (i.e. sign up for corp forums, where to send the API keys to, install teamspeak, etc...).

What you're asking for is exactly what the OP said would be included in this update. The only difference is they're putting it in when it actually makes sense, *after* someone actually joins corp.

What I think would be nice is the ability to have two mails or two mail sections (or three)...

This is asking a little much imo, an auto "accepted to corp" mail is fine and all, but after that why not just have mails saved in Notes or even a word doc - copy/paste and you're done.

Xercodo wrote:
...would be awesome if you could pre-assign a title or set of roles to a person upon joining...

^^this is a good idea

"Okay how bout now?"
"Nope"
"Open and close the window?"
"Nope"
"undock and redock?"
"Nope"
"Try a relog?"
"Okay I can get to the hanger now..."

Hanger access and wallet access debugging is a *****...

^^also this, but it shouldn't need to be "verifiied," at least on the user end. roles should be programmed so when they're assigned, they ping the server and the client(s), making it work right away. This can't be that hard...

Good, but fixing the POS and the inventory on it would be a better recruitment incentive then putting up some colours in the recruiting system... We will have to interview the new member anyway... and he will still need to post in ower forum before getting accepted...

Aryndel's nailed a few key requirements, but the audit log aspect is very important.

"2. Show the name of the person who processed the applcation. You have things like Invited to Join on there. Something like Invited to Join by Aryndel Vyst would be even better"

I would love a way to look back over the history of an application even after the person has been in the corp for a long time.

A checkbox on the applicant's side that would allow for an application to be automatically accepted by the corp would also be nice, that way the invite to join has the ability to be bypassed (Basically an option to do it the old way).

With this said, give the corporation the option to insta-accept the application or sent the "invite to join" to the application that has the above-mentioned option checked

I know these steps are probably a pain in the ass to implement, but it would allow for different recruitment styles (Like dealing with newbies that don't know where to view the invites), and would also make the recruitment process a bit more streamlined and direct if desired.

Another Idea would to be able to have multiple auto-welcome-mails saved (maybe a max of 3?) so you can send out a more appropriate welcome mail to the player. If I am recruiting a new player, I will send him/her a completely different mail than I would to an experienced player that doesn't need to have something like "how to find the bulletins" explained.

For this, you can just have a checkbox option for each mail when the application is accepted/invited, and also give the option for the old generic welcome notif.

Again, with that said, have the ability for the same to happen with rejection mails. That way if you commonly have 2 or 3 issues that cause an app to be rejected, you can select an appropriate mail to be sent automatically with the rejection, or have the generic one if there is no mail selected.

TL;DR: Read the post. :P

Nothing to see here.

Looks like good changes overall. Will you be fixing these things in this update as well?

Specifically:

Quote:
Double clicking on an application does nothing (it used to open the application)

Right click menu on an application has had functions stripped (used to be able to start a conversation or send a message from that menu)

As well as fixing the portraits? They don't load in the recruitment window at all.

How will pending applications that have been given invites be shown? Dreddit routinely has many pending applications and adding on top of that is crazy.

Currently the application will wait for the player to accept or withdraw it. But I think this is something we need to address in some fashion. I will bring it up with the team.

Its a bit more than just that. I give you the example of the carefree, **** swinging awoxer, if by chance i hit the wrong button on his application. Under the current mechanic you are telling me there is nothing i can do to withdraw my corps invitation? Mistakes happen, would be nice to be able to correct them before the other player is undocked in space and logged in inside of your corporation.

./ can you create a corporation blocked list, i.e. if certian names are added to it they are unable to apply to corp?

this would make recruitment peeps lives better. and the ability to retract offers is a MUST HAVE not a Soon(tm) have

OMG when can i get a pic here

Can we also get a few more divisions added since we are on the topic of recruitment/retention of corpmates. I give every member his own division so no one can snoop/steal. Works well at POS's. Having more would be great so we don't have to share. I know this has been beat to death elsewhere - so I will just again say ...

PLEASE!!

I'm just glad to see CCP Fear is still with CCP, far too long since his last devblog.

First off when is Retribution 1.1 scheduled to hit TQ?

While I like some of the ideas presented the main problems with Corporations is still tied in with POS and Corp Management.

There is not enough security between the various roles you can assign to people, especially when it comes to POS's.

When will these issues be address?

It'd be nice if we could specify which NPC factions corporations support. It'd be helpful for roleplayers in choosing a corporation and it could make for some interesting statistics.

Here's an idea for some feature bloat that I think will make the whole advert thing actually useful. Put the power in the hands of the individual. Let players have their own 'looking for corp' adverts, with colortags on local and overview. Right now corp adverts are mostly useless because they all lie. Every last one. If a corp is ambitious enough to approach potential recruits, that filters out most of the worst corps right away, putting the recruit in a much better position.

A step in the right direction, but still some core things are missing for corporate management.

Viewable logs of people leaving and joining the corp, its really annoying noticing corp member count has gone down one and you have no idea who, seeing as only the ceo gets the mail, rather make it director wide.

Seeing who accepted who into the corp

Love the ability to edit welcome mail. We always have to forward the welcome mail around when a new member joins.

It will if we still have to process applications from people that cannot join, even if they get the notification now (which is an improvement IF the guy reads words on his screen - which isn't likely).
Authing people involves a certain degree of background checks and it's a waste of everyones time if they still show up in the application queue while under cooldown/roles.

Go play with it on SiSi - there are options to show older applications (over 3 months) as well as "unprocessed", "accepted" and "rejected" applications, so you won't see the those unless you ask for them.

And, if you mail a guy to join and he doesn't bother to read the stuff you send him, he's probably never going to get anywhere in EVE.

This is a great step forward, CCP. Some nice new tools to play with.

Somethings you need to make sure are there to make what you propose more functional:

  • A log of application processing (who accepted, rejected, invited to join, etc..)
  • Ability to retract an invitation to join

Also, before introducing new features, please fix what doesn't work, especially the missing portraits.... Not critical, but rather annoying.

Some more small improvements that corp management could use in 1.1:

  • Ability to send out an invite to players to join a corp without them having applied first (would be great help with noobs)
  • Ability to include a reason with a rejected notice
  • Block reds and oranges from applying, as well as members and former members of corps and alliances that are reds and oranges
  • Ability for pilots to advertize themselves to corps
  • More API-like tools in-game (maybe even a template of the API key the corp requires that players can generate in-game)

Sure there is a lot more to improve in corp management outside recruitment, but it may require a whole expansion to bring corp tools to their next version.

  • No official day has been set for Retribution 1.1 hitting TQ.
  • PrismX has already added the ability to withdraw an invite from a corp to a player based on feedback from this thread.
  • We can look into more edit-able mails other than the welcome mail.
  • Portraits should show!
  • Reverse recruitment (player advertising themselves) has been talked about for years now. It is a much bigger task and I don't think that will happen in the near future.
  • More details in the logs - Definetly! I would like to get it in 1.1, but I'm doubtful it will make it in time! (we had planned for it)
  • Roles by themselves are bigger than we can handle right now. Specifying titles and roles during the invitation process is something I think is worth considering.
  • I am still with CCP (obviously), and yes it's been a looong time since my last blog Big smile
  • Timers on invitations, I will bring this up as an option. Not sure about the ramification yet.
  • There are filters available which allow you to see each section separately or any way you please, sorted by date.
