The current system is not the old system. Things were certainly stale in some aspects. Executor Heth appeared and kept our path true. He rekindled aspects of the old ways.

But what now? It's quite clear that the direction is once again starting to stray, as it did before his appearance. We've become the direction of one person and you need only read the news to see this.

Heth may have given us a quick fix to our national ailment, but it was hardly keeping the path true. When Heth took control he appointed those loyal to him into positions of power based on his own definition of merit while stripping everyone of their title and status above a certain level and demanding that they earn it back. How many had spent their lives building up to their positions only to have it stripped away by a sanctimonious usurper? He gave the Caldari a purpose and a renewed vitality, but that only goes so far until the lull of stagnant society rears its ugly head again.

Our direction was never corrected, merely obscured, and now its clear that the tumors were merely removed but the cancer never treated.

Respectfully,

*A camera feed opens. It appears to be mounted on a desk, the camera lens facing Korsavius who is sitting with his hands folded. He wears no uniform, but instead clothing that can typically be seen on any common citizen. Behind him is an empty bookcase - it seems almost every item in the office has been packaged.*

My fellow Statesmen.

*He pauses briefly.*

I deliver this with a somewhat humbled tone - humbled by the reactions of both jaijii and kirjuun. Some of the reactions have surprised me, while others have not.

I've never considered myself to be much of an orator...as such, I am not sure how to proceed..but...

*He looks down at his folded hands, releasing a sigh, then returns his gaze into the camera*

I have been told..ordered..to keep to myself and cease any hostilities to Heth and his administration. The truth is, I cannot. I will not. I refuse to obey an order that, if followed, will continue to allow Heth and his forces to strain and drain my home, my people.

I understand the ramifications of my decision, and I accept them. If Ishukone wishes to suspend my citizenship, and I-RED to terminate my employment contract - then I will honor those decisions.

When our ancestors felt the disconnection between themselves and the Gallente, they rose to the occasion and stood firm to their beliefs. Let my actions be echoed with the same grace as theirs.

*He pauses for a few moments before continuing.*

My family arrived in the State not as citizens, but as victims of an unchecked black market trade. As if by some cosmic coincidence, some grand scheme, I was born into existence. I was a lucky one, however. Many children born under the same conditions as I never get to see the light of day, constantly toiling away at mine shafts, production facilities, or station warehouses.

My family was given a second chance, however. An opportunity which we used to "earn our stripes", so to speak, while anyone else in the right mind would have fled to greener pastures. My father would never live long enough to earn his, but my mother and myself bled, sweat, and worked as tirelessly as any ethnic Caldari to earn our place. But, even so, there was always certain Caldari who would look upon us with animosity - a gaze of indifference.

When I finally decided to pursue formal education, it was recommended that I attend school within the Federation or Republic instead, and so I did. Even when in company of my "blood brethren" in the Republic, I experienced the same animosity I did back in the State, only amplified. I managed through, though, and when I graduated promptly returned to the State.

While I was glad to be home, I couldn't help but feel confused and torn apart. I carried these feelings with me for many years, and eventually decided to confide in traveling. Only until recently, I never truly understood what it meant to be Caldari. The frigid Sebeistor homeland of Mikramurka on Matar is highly remarkable. I discovered I have a natural affinity to it, but could never figure out why. Well, now I know why.

The cold, arctic winds caressed my skin. Rather than torment my fragile body, they cradled it - welcomed it. When my meditation was complete, I rose rejuvenated. Even on those cold, inhospitable lands so far from home I felt the bond between my soul and that of State ancestors. I felt what it means to be Caldari.

*He sinks his head, watching his hands as his fingers twiddle around slightly before returning to a more formal posture.*

And so, people of the cluster, make no mistake. To be Caldari is not confined to a single race, I am just one of many who can testify. Beneath this Brutor skin, Caldari spirit runs through these veins. And it is with that Caldari spirit that I summon the strength and courage to denounce Heth and his corrupt Provist government. It is with that Caldari spirit that I take a stand, while so many others continue to remain silent, either in fear or indecisiveness. It is with that Caldari spirit that I rise against corruption and oppression, even if I rise alone.

And so, I reiterate.

I understand the ramifications of my decision, and I accept them. If Ishukone wishes to suspend my citizenship, and I-RED to terminate my employment contract - then I will honor those decisions.

I will also honor the memory of those who sacrificed so much to create what they did. And if that means I must sacrifice so much as well, then it shall be done.

*He leans forward a bit.*

Heth-kirjuun, your time has passed.

*Korsavius terminates the camera feed.*

I will not speak ill of you in public, Korsavius, but this could have been handled better. This matter is now out of my hands.

For all the differences we've had, you do honestly have my support, worthless now that it may be.

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen.

It raises a lot of questions when the Corporate Security Director of a Caldari Megacorporation feels the need to come to the Intergalactic Summit to make a statement.

This is rumor control, and here are the facts:

Ishukone watch, and by extension Ishukone itself, did not hesitate for a second to both back and assist the Ishuk-Raata Directive when this incident occured. It is our belief that the Caldari Provincial Directorate acted with an immensely heavy hand, and without thought or regard for the safety of Caldari citizens during its breakup of the demonstration that occurred early on Tuesday morning.

Aid, supplies and skilled support personnel were immediately flown in to assist the already diligently working staff of the Ishuk-Raata Directive. Through their fast action and skilled judgement, many lives of those who were critically injured were saved.

As was stated in the press release made by myself on Tuesday directly after the incident, the fact is that four citizens of the State lost their lives needlessly in a vicious attack on a peaceful protest. This attack was designed for the simple objective of intimidating State citizens and sending a message. That objective has failed.

In the last five years, Ishukone has lost so much, including an irreplaceable leader who represented exactly what it means to be Caldari. There will not be a repeat of those events.

We hold our heads high with pride, and we vow that Ishukone Watch will not hesitate to defend the assets and personnel of the Ishukone Corporation and its subsidiaries to the full extent of our capability should they be threatened again.

The blood of those fallen Caldari who were taken from us on Tuesday is on the hands of the Caldari Provincial Directorate.

That is all.

Good evening, Summit.

Some of you may remember me, some may not. For those who do not, my name is Varlerian Ti'kihli Surkousa. I retired from intergalactic affairs more than a year ago, and spent my time quietly managing a small-time company on my homeworld of Abagawa IV. It was quite nice, I already miss relaxing the warm tropical sun which has since been replaced by working in cold, grey metal prisons...

However, recent events have forced my hand, and I have since decided to end my retirement temporarily. I could not afford to sit relaxed and idle any longer while the State continues to spiral into an ever deeper political abyss.

So, I have renewed security contracts, among other things, with the Corporate Police Force and Hyasyoda. Let it be known that I support my friends in I-RED, and by extension Ishukone and Ishukone Watch. The State is fractured, let us begin to mend Her together once more.
